Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

That signals to me that they aren't doing any more.... or they are doing more but not with a Mustang as KITT

oh they are gonna do more ford is a big sponsor of this show I'm sure when the series is announced they will supply the studio with a lot of mustangs for the project :word:

was will arnett replaced as the voice of kit at the last minute because he was thought to be a little too funny? because that blows...

nope, cuz he was the voice they used in the GMC trucks adverts. GMC decided at the last minute that they didn't want him to be the voice of a Ford... especially after the finale of the movie.

no, its because Will Arnett voices GMs vehicle commercials.

GM were not happy that their main voiceover man would be voicing a Ford car.

You see, these days, Money is everything, and Acting is not.

NBC is basically Ford's ***** now. Whatever Ford wants or says, it gets.

I really think that the good numbers for this show is what will push it into a full production schedule for next season. There were several cars built so auctioning these two off actually do more good than harm. You raise money for a worthwhile charity and you get some free publicity.

I've heard rumors that NBC has already locked Val Kilmer into a contract for the series. Now, this is not substantiated and I definitely hope it's true, but those are the rumblings around the NBC studios.

AICN is reporting that there wil be a new series of Knight Rider....

NBC Universal is mounting its third “Knight Rider” series in three decades, following the 1982 David Hasselhoff vehicle (if you will) and the 1997 Brixton Karnes-led “Team Knight Rider” (whose series finale featured a cameo by Hasselhoff).
The new series, whose 2-hour February pilot also featured a Hasselhoff walk-on, stars “All My Children” vet Justin Bruening and “Young and the Restless” vet Deanna Russo.

The network is expected to announce the new series’ tentative fall timeslot during its early upfront Wednesday.

I watched bits and pieces of the pilot again a while back. I'm not really as interested in a full series of it anymore. The actors are really quite bad. I mean, sure, if we could get KITT cruising around on his own? Awesome. With the people they've built up around him for the new series, though... meh.

Just watched the pilot yesterday, it was okay I was quite surprised they actually got the Hoff at the end, I like the music, Val Kilmer, & the Mustang (despite despising them). And the actors are with standable & hardly the worst I've seen & anything is better than that God awful TV movie from the nineties with no Hoff. So I'm happy to see then making a series if they do, fingers crossed.

I'm more interested in what car they'll have as KITT. I mean, they auctioned off the two movie cars in the last few days so they can't use them.

Will they just get more Mustangs of Ford or will they be switching KITTs body about again?

They auctioned off two of the six cars they used. And they said they wouldn't have a problem getting more from Ford.

Ford did cut them a nice deal on cars....so I'm guessing KITT stays a Mustang.....

Xfiles flourished in its Friday night time slot....it was the hour before it that killed many a show...Brisco County Jr being a victim.....a show has to be exceptional to do well on Friday nights....a well established show can go into a friday night slot and be ok....or a network can move a struggling show to friday nights to find an excuse to cancel it once the numbers drop down....

x-files is an exception, probably due to the accumulated fan base? like you said, even an exceptional show become "ok", and regular shows die out.

unfortunate victim here (las vegas):csad:

yea I was ticked about Las Vegas, but it had a good run.....I would have liked a proper finale, but hey....

They're pulling a "Jericho"?? jeezus....this whole sending objects to the studio thing is out of hand. Nuts, Mars Bars, Baby Booties....whats' next....it hasnt really worked....Jericho got a third of a season, Veronica Mars is dead and buried....Things end it happens and I am moving on and finding other stuff to watch....Ive got BSG starting this month and Life will be back as well..

yeah...jericho...that died a second death. clearly indicating that it was really just the loud minority.

Well i was reading earlier it is going to series i hope it does well and they can get hoff to appear once in awhile along side original kitt. Hopefully it is on a good time and day slot.
