Konami exec. says Metal Gear Solid may go to other consoles

They released Metal Gear Solid 2 to the Xbox.

MGS 4 is going to be an expensive game. They did NOT say it would not come out for Xbox 360. They said they had no plans "yet". They need to release cross platform to recoup cost since there aren't enough PS3s in homes yet.

When Halo 3 comes out, and with the recent boost in sales because of the HDMI enabled Premiums and the price drop, that's going to be even more Xbox 360s in homes. And it would be ignoring a goldmine not to release it for 360 as well.

I don't think they are saying they will release it officially because they don't want to upset PS3 owners. But once it comes out and PS3 owners are happy, then they'll announce it for 360. And I doubt Kojima Productions would simply "let" someone else do their most prized and profitable game franchise.

Exactly, thats what I said. They will release it for Sony and then soon afterward, annouce it for the 360. Whatever Sony is paying them, Microsoft can outbid times infinity. And if Kojima is that stupid and stubborn, then another team will do it.

Kojima is stubborn when it comes to this issue. Another team will do it if it happens. That's what the rumors are pointing to.

Completely unsubstantiated and frankly baseless rumors. Again, what reason would Kojima have to offload their valuable property to someone else who could potentially mess up the port?

Isn't that what happened with MGS2 Substance? I never played the Xbox version but everyone says it's shoddy.

I don't really know, to be honest. Company info just says Konami. I assume since its a port and nothing is being added there is no reason for some company to take over. But again, not 100%.

The Xbox version scored very high. Not as high as the PS2 version but that may be related to the time of the releases.
