More sony delays, this time it's MGS4

Seriously, it's one thing for third party games to get delayed repeatedly but sony's biggest title of 2008?

KONAMI announced today that "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS", the latest in the METAL GEAR series, is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2008.

KONAMI had initially intended to release "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" this winter and has been working on the production of the title. KONAMI has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide.

KONAMI will continue its efforts to make "METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS" meet everyone's expectations.

Further information regarding the release date will be announced as soon as possible.

Maybe they're taking the extra time so they can do a day and date version on the 360

cue, it's not the ps3's fault, I'd rather have a game delayed by nearly a year from original release date than have a rushed game that sucks...

Gears took home half of the GOTY awards, Halo 3 kicks all ass and is likely to do the same if not more.

Bioshock is on the PC, Gears will be next week (and much better) and Halo 3 will eventually. This PS3 owner wont be missing anything

Go do five minutes of research to see that GOTY 2006 went to Gears and Oblivion on almost all accounts, with a near-perfect 50/50 split.

argh...even though i think this will still be exclusive to PS3 for a while, i can't help but think that the delay and "more customers" means port over to the 360. that would be very bad for Sony considering MGS4 is supposed to be one of the biggest system sellers for the PS3 if it remains exclusive.

Since the game's release date was already an ambiguous "Spring 2008," I can live with it being moved to "Summer 2008." Indeed the delay does chap my @$$ considerably, but there are worse things that could happen.
