Kramer's A Racist!!!

Richard Pryor in his act said some fairly harsh things about white, but according to you,

You said he wasn't racist, regardless of what Pryor said.

It seems to be a case of double-standard with you, yo.

I know Yo!:whatever:

It's not a double standard Pryor's comedy is harsh regardless of the subject and a lot of truth is in his comedy. Plus it's actually funny.

Someone mentioned Dice Clay and George Carlin two guys who use race in there comedy and it doesn't offend me for various reasons, in the case of Dice he's a known bigot so I expect that of him and Carlin's humor is more commentary and a lot of the times valid while showing the absurdity of racism.

There are too many posts that I want to respond to for me to actually do that, so I'm just going to ramble on.

First off, all this crap about the hecklers trying to "come up" from their incident needs to stop! America is the legal land of oppurtunity, and suing someone is the first thing anyone does now and days. Whites do it. Blacks do it. Everyone does it! So, saying that the incident now lacks validity because they are suing doesn't hold water. It also doesn't make them any more shallow than anyone else who sues. This includes the notorious Brown family.

Publicity seekers like Sharpton and Allred are on the television yacking and yacking about race relations because of this. So what! How many other politicians, publicty hounds, and the like do the same? This is common. Everyone who wants to be on television will try to do so, and Allred and Sharpton frequently insert themselves in these types of frays. Other white politicians and evangelist do it too. Again, these people's involvement in this incident doesn't negate the incident or excuse Richards actions.

Black comedians use the n-word and make jokes about white people, so why shouldn't Richards? Uh....that is so asinine I can't even believe folks are using that one. First off, Richards wasn't using this during an act. Yes, he was on stage, but his routine was way over. He was just being an ass, and he used a racial slur to insult a member of the audience who was heckling him, which clearly is over the line. Frequently, many comedians use audience members for comic fodder, and yes they do make deragotory remarks about anything and everything under the sun. However, Richards wasn't trying to make a joke and that is the difference.

Some of these posts just boggle my mind. It as though people are actively looking for ways to try and justify what Richards did, dismiss the actions because it was the hecklers fault to begin with, or sweep it under the rug by saying it doesn't really matter. All this makes me think is that some folk (don't know color so I won't say) would like to use racial slurs as way of insulting people, which in fact does make you a racist.

I agree with what you just said. Black comedians use the n-word everytime. They make fun of white people all the time. Richards used this in a totally different perspective. Instead of using it for his act, he went over the line and disrespected an audience member. I have just totally lost respect for Richards, and will look at Seinfeld in a different way.

I actually hope he takes up the offer to go on Apollo.

I know some think that's crazy, but it would go a long way. I'm not one for forcing people to make an amends. It's up to them to do that in their own time and in their own way. But, it would be a good oppurtunity for him to get back on the horse. Face the critics and be real with it.

He's a comedian. He should be able to laugh at his own mistakes and move on faster than anyone else.

He wouldn't be in this situation if he could "laugh it off". Comedians get heckled all the time.

True. Yet, I do understand someone losing control.

I generally try and place myself in any circumstance, so I can try to walk in the shoes thing. I figure the dude had to be wacked, nervous and a little on the edge to begin with, or maybe a combination of all three. Once the heckling started he lost it totally.

That's unfortunate it, but it does happen. I can forgive that.....

BUT...that doesn't mean there aren't consequences. If that had been me or you or anyone else on the job, we'd be fired and sent packing. You don't get to act an ass just because you can without paying the price.

This is really what is this all about...at least for me.

didn't know, now knows why whitey calls us "*******" and tries to hold us all in disdain-'cause whitey has been suckin' on black africa's economic **** from the day of whitey's grafted and mutated creation from the black african race, and from the first day of amerikkka's creation by black african slaves....oh, but whitey gonna get that beat down from god reeeeal soon. so, just keep on yelling "******", 'cause the world already knows that whitey's bull***** dependent azz is the biggest "******" of them all.

how laughable is this *****-especially when whitey in amerikkka didn't give a ***** about the 40+ thousand african americans who lost everything they had in hurricane katrina, and the whole world got to see just how racist and ignorant the white race in america was after katrina, and bush too,

Wow, that "Nappypolitics" is a real Gem.
Do you have any iDEA how many White people were personally, physically involved with trying to help, not just the Black people, but everyone who suffered after Katrina?!?, and after that, how many gave money? LOL

Racist **** is mixing up Bush with all "Whiteys".(
Which is madness. I'm White and think Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Rove should all be, at least imprisoned, possibly executed for their crimes against humanity.

Oh but "Whiteys" like me are gonna get ours reeeeeeaaalll soon.

Nappypolitics pretty much seems to be every other post on that thread...

Michael Richards to star in Lethal Weapon 4 with Mel Gibson!

Of course not. But if you want to get a more concentrated sampling, I provided one. :yay:

I think that most people, black, white, etc. are outraged by this. It was an obscene racist display and Richards should have known better. However, why the **** would anyone want to see Michael Richards do stand-up anyhow?

there is a world of difference, as part of an act, in taking the rise out of the traditional stereotype (black man as gangsta hip hop type, nerdy white guy, and so on,you can do that with out using offensive language )than losing your temper and calling a member of the audience a ***** (heckler or not)

obviously, out of the act, and not in any kind of PR appearance, its different. But in the case of this guy, hes gone past the mark.
