Nonwhites using racial slurs mostly just comes off as, "Well, it's all I can really do. Violent revolution didn't work. Nonviolent revolution didn't work. Incremental social change didn't work. Well, **** it, I'll call the guy a cracker. I mean, what else can I really do here? It's not like anyone's fighting for my rights out there."

What do you think would happen if a white rapper, came out and in every other line in his lyrics and in every tv appearance he yelled out the n word.

Yeah, but Africans were the ones who sold the slaves. To the Seven Jewish Bankers Who Control The World. Who then sold them to white people, who have absolutely no responsibility for it. They're totally innocent, which is why there should be no responsibility placed on white people today. The real blame for slavery lies on the Seven Jewish Bankers and the Africans.

My ancestors came to this country from Germany in 1872, and then settled in Kansas 4 years later.

I saw this earlier and I am appalled. I am pretty lenient and I'm willing to cut people slack. I'm black and I hate to hear that word from white people, but I know we all say stuff in anger. It happens. Yet, he just launched into this tirade.

I can understand him being upset at a heckler, but there are a ton of ways he could have attacked him with out going down that road. For that to be the first thing out of his mouth...well?

Being sarastic doesn't work on the internet, unless you use happy faces. Its not like a tell what tone of voice you're using. Many times on the internet I have seen someone was trying to be sarastic, but they didn't convey that properly and people think they were being serious.

Then maybe you should ask before assuming and in any case, why you want to make an issue out of such an insignificant remark is IMO nickpiting. I'm sure you have better things to do than criqute my remarks.

Okay, here is my take.

Racial slurs only work if you give them power. I have had someone call me the n-word, but it was the biggest piece of trash walking the earth. Her calling me that word meant nothing because she was ignorant and it was obvious. A friend of mine was called that at work in a professional setting when the moment was really heated. She wasn't fazed either.

However, I think the word still "hits below the belt" for a lot of people because there are a lot of people out there who never say it to your face, but are racist behind your back. So, whenever you hear it likes a reminder that there are still folks out there who hate you for your skin color.

That hasn't been a problem for the last few years...

Hmmm...see in my opinion most non-minorities don't understand how a word can have so much impact, but I believe it can be linked to generational PTSD.

It's like a Vietnam vet hearing a gunshot and immediately going into combat mode.

The word provokes anger that you may not even know about. However, if you don't have this legacy in your generation then you will not understand.

Also, I believe everyone has baises and preconceptions, but to say everyone is racist is going to far. Going by what qualifies a racist today I think that is going overboard. Yet, I see what you are saying.
