Kung Fu Flicks

*SIGH* I'm sorry I was so rude. I'm having a bad day. Good to know about the original title, though.

Any kung fu flicks that don't star asian people are automatically below any that do.

It's not a true, true martial arts movie but I forgot to mention The Last Dragon. I love that movie and all of its 80's cheese.

Kung Fu Hustle has choreography by Yuen Wo Ping and Sammo Hung (he did the 3 masters against everyone else scene).
The actual real fighting you see there is AWESOME.

Awesome thread!!!

Here's all the martial arts/kung fu flicks I own:

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
District B13
DOA
Dragon the Bruce Lee Story
Drunken Master
Fearless
Hero
Kung Fu Hustle
Legend of Drunken Master
Magnificent Butcher
Naked Weapon
Ong-Bak
Operation Condor
Police Story
Police Story 2
Project A
Project A 2
Shanghai Noon
Shanghai Knights
Shaolin Soccer
Snake In Eagle's Shadow
Supercop
Twin Dragons
Unleashed

I love em all, even the corny ones that barely pass as martial arts flicks...

Oh, and based on my list ^^^, suggest some to me. I really want to get those Dragon Dynasty ones they've been putting out in a big boxset soon...

So, pretty much, you own either all the Americanized or commercialized movies.

Five Deadly Venoms! FTW

Also, many other flicks from the Venom Mob.

My copy is on order. A few more days left before I get to see this film for the first time. :csad:

OH! Please enlighten me, oh glorious keeper of harcore martial arts films that no one can procure but you! Forgive me my insult to you by simply asking what other movies I might like based on my meager SELLOUT collection! A thousand pardons, Lord!!1!

...and actually I'd say about 90% of my films are either foreign, independent or underground cult movies. So don't show your ingnorance so blatantly next time, bro. :woot:

Hero is the best martial arts film ever if not best Film ever!

I refuse to argue. I like those movies too.

I thought you were trying to be some kind of kung fu snob or something. Sry for flying off the handle there.

I'd say my faves out of what I own are Yuen Wo Ping's old school movies. Magnificent Butcher and Snake In Eagle's Shadow owns. But I'd say Legend of Drunken Master takes the cake for me. It's an amazing movie, and I give Hero credit for being the most beautiful film I own.

My best friends prefers House of Flying Daggers over Hero and I think he's crazy. Am I alone?

My favorite YWP old-school ever.
I especially love the Yuen Biao vs. Lam Ching Ying fight...

I think Hero is easily Yimou's best. House of Flying Daggers and especially Curse of the Golden Flower show his interest being more in seeing how much color and pageantry he can show off instead of actual tight fight choreography. I do love the last fight between the two rival guys vying for Zhang Ziyi near the end of Flying Daggers, though.

I'll tell you what the highlight of "Curse..." is for me:

 Gong Li

The next Kung Fu movie I see will be Dragonball

I have to say, I also enjoy the first Mortal Kombat Movie very much. :o
