Yeah, I think it was one of the coolest movies. I loved the part where the assassins where playing the music, and ghost warriors and weapons where coming at the kung fu masters. The music and action there was really well done.

I loved the movie and as much as I'd like to see a new one, I gotta wonder what's left to challenge him?

Hmm maybe the kid who got one of the manuals at the end will rise to be an evil force? :o

That's a good question. Hopefully when more news on the movie is out, we can find out what the plot for the sequel is.

perhaps it's more of quest or something? Or perhaps different central character, just the element of 'kung fu hustling' as the centrepiece?

dragons? Jesus I don't know!

Anyone looking forward to the sequel?

I liked the first one, and Chow sure knows how to direct and action movie.

Will see it, but the movie won't be the same without BROTHER SUM . . .

First one is a classic!!! Not sure if they can top that.

I think this is bull****.

Last I heard this movie got scrapped because Stephen Chow wanted to do a different movie that would involve aliens and outer space.

I don't think he is making a sequel. Instead he may be making a new movie involving something else. Sometimes (especially on the IMDB) if they are aware that a director/actor is making a new movie, they add it as a sequel to the last one they did and change it when production starts. The same happened with Tony Jaa in Ong Bak. When they heard he was doing a new movie, they simply added it as Ong Bak 2 despite the movie being soemthing completely different.

Their making a sequel?

I believe so.

Yeah, nothing really happened to him in the first film, so I think he could return.

For Ong-Bak 2, it says on IMDB that Jaa is directing it, so I think it's true. There's even a cast listed for the movie.

From Wikipedia:
In 2005, Chow asserted that there will be a sequel to Kung Fu Hustle, though stated that he hadn't settled on a female lead. "There will be a lot of new characters in the movie. We'll need a lot of new actors. It's possible that we'll look for people abroad besides casting locals."[6] Production of Kung Fu Hustle 2 was delayed whilst Chow filmed A Hope, a sci-fi adventure. As a result, the sequel to Kung Fu Hustle is slated for a 2008 release.[6]

That's what I'm saying. The ImDb is incorrect when it comes to titles of movies in production. Tony Jaa himself stated that it is NOT a sequel since it is set in the past and has new characters and is called something else which has not been announced yet. Ong Bak 2 is just production name that IMDb added since they do not know the real title. The same happened for Tom Yum Goong (The Warrior King/The Protector), before it was released, it was slated as Ong Bak 2.

Interesting. Chow is brilliant. As long as he's putting something new out, whether it's a sequel to one of his past films or a completely new piece of work, I'm happy.

In the Special Features too The Protector Tony says that he is making a sequel to Ong Bak.
