Good point on that. 2 years nowadays feels like nothing when working on major AAA games and this game had a ton to do, even if ME2 had already made massive jumps in gameplay that 3 could be based on. It's not easy ending a franchise like this and despite the not-great reaction to the original choice of endings, they were certainly taking on a lot in a very short timeframe. Adding an amazing multiplayer makes the achievement even bigger.True enough, but honestly I consider Mass Effect 3 to be slightly underrated for one fairly simple reason.
The game was literally made in 2 years.
The fact that it's not significantly worse borders on a miracle. Yet it has the best gameplay in the series, it had a fantastic multiplayer and a (mostly) satisfactory conclusion.
Even imagining having to try and wrap up the goddamn Mass Effect story in 2 years, let alone also make upgrades to the gameplay and add multiplayer, makes my head spin
