The Dark Knight Latino Review: TDK script review NEXT WEEK??!!

Sometimes I miss the old days. When I was a kid, we didn't even know there was a new Batman movie until we saw the poster hanging in the theatre. :o
Personally, that is why I am glad Nolan is being so tight lipped. I also think the internet has taken away a majority of the mystique to these movies. Imagine seeing BEGINS, loving it and not knowing concretely about a sequel. Until magically one day you're at the theatre to see another movie, and to your ultimate suprise, you see a glistening movie poster advertising a sequel to one of you favorite movies.

This is what it was like when I was kid, when B89 was my favorite movie, and hit me like a ton of bricks one day I was watching tv and saw a commercial for a new Batman movie. That being Batman Returns.

I absolutely despised the script leak of BEGINS in 2003 - 2004. It ruined alot for me, seeing as how punks were going everywhere giving away the plot twist, etc. A script review I don't mind, but keep the spoilers to a minimum for the sake of others. Like Nolan, I'm not even a huge fan of "Making of" featuretts on dvd's. As I said earlier, it takes away part of the magic, and mysterious qualities to film making. I rather walk into a theater in July 2008 and know next nothing about the film other than who is playing what, and what the main characters look like. Other than that, I'm set. Hell, I'm glad I'm still pretty much ignorant to the plot of Spider-man 3.

I have no sympathy for LR about the e-mails they are getting. They are the ones stirring the hype machine up in order to get people to view their site. They should know what they are getting themselves into by doing that. It's no one's fault but theirs.

so once again, there's no review for this damn script? oh boy...

My most vivid memory is seeing the Batman Forever poster freshly displayed at my local theatre. It was a sublime moment.

What a sweet poster. I was like "ThE RIddLER!!&(#&??!!" :woot:

The internet has spoiled fans to the point of absurdity. We just saw it recently when they demanded to know who was playing Harvey Dent.

Nobody owes us anything.

I agree completely. I was walking through the theatre (before I was an internet man) and I see this huge banner of Mr. Freeze and it said like Freeze well or something and I went into a fit. All my buds were like "Wow dude what wrong!" I was like "the greatest movie ever is coming out!" how wrong i was :oldrazz:

Just a tad, pimp ... haha, it's cool it fooled us all. I remember the trailer actually made it seem like it was going to be dark, and good.

But I wasn't suprised by Batman and Robin's release. Because by the late 90's, I got my news from this premiere magazine called "Cinescape". They had all the news on up coming releases in the back of each monthly magazine. Like pre-internet they were the ish. And I remember reading the sequel to Forever was confirmed just a month or two after its release because Forever was so successful. So Batman and Robin's release didn't take me by suprise.

I remember seeing the poster for Batman Returns in the lobby of the theater. Just seeing Catwoman, The Penguin, and Batman in that mysterious poster pumped me up.

Yeah, back when Batman Returns was coming out, I remember actually driving all over Los Angeles, looking for those posters. Not to steal, mind you, but just to SEE. I remember seeing so many destroy bus stops, from people snatching up those awesome Catwoman posters.

Hell, I remember seeing that fully-animated "Howard The Duck" movie billboard in Los Angeles, with a cigar that blew a smoke ring, thinking that was going to be the coolest movie ever!

To be honest, I love and hate the internet. I actually miss the days when the 'net was all text, I had a "PINE" account through my college, and the message boards were all usenet. The internet is convenient and all, and I love seeing cool/silly/sexy pictures just like anyone else, but really, who needs all this crap???

(back to goofing off on the internet I go, btw)

Fixed. :ninja:

Just felt like taking a little break from it. It was distracting me too much. I'll be on in a few days. :o

I remember driving around with my younger brother looking for the Bat, the Cat and The Penguin posters late at night in the summer of 92. We so badly wanted to steal a poster. We just couldn't muster the courage to do so...we were panzies:)

I just really, really hope we don't get another superhero story where he "retires" to try and live a normal life only to realize what his destiny was all along and return triumphantly at the end.

If anything, I think they'll do the exact opposite. Instead of considering giving up Batman, he'll want to give up Bruce Wayne and be Batman full-time. It's surprising, we've had half a dozen live-action Batman movies and that concept has never once been explored.

Not surprising that LR ended up not having a review, oh well.

Though LR has always been truthful source about casting news, I hate them now for lying about TDK script all this stime  :down

1)They never openly said they had the script for The Dark Knight.
2)They said they MIGHT have a surprise for us this week. MIGHT.

Call it a twist of words or whatever you like. The fact of the matter is they said it was a possibility, and they never flatout said it was going to be TDK. Don't be pissed at them. Be pissed at yourself for getting your hopes up so high.

Boom, you're just to reasonable for an internet chat room.

Don't you know that unfounded, irrational and sensational responses to something that was never said is the backbone of this place. :oldrazz:

I recently got an e-mail from LR, and yes, the supposed script review WAS supposed to be The Dark Knight. They basically told me they tried to get it in time for this week, they came close, but weren't able to.

Oh well...at least we'll get more confirmations before we get the review.

I knew it, and Iwas so looking forward to it too. Dag-gon-it!

Well, at least it's been confirmed that we'll get a script review. Looks like next week now.......

If this is the second time they've done this, then I wouldn't give my hopes next time. I understand that it is something we would absolutely like to see, but why even say anything about it if you DO NOT HAVE IT. I don't understand the logic of getting everyone all riled up, when you don't even have the script to begin with. I think next time they should wait until they have script in hand before they do this again, it's just so distasteful of them.

From what I seen, for the most part, LR is usually reliable. They must have really felt really confident, they would have it. I just knew it was too good to be true, at this time in the production.
