the problem though is , if we get the script leaked , nolan and the rest will find out and then they'll have to change EVERY SINGLE ****ING THING about it.

Seriously, despite the success of BB, a script leak is still useful to WB. For instance, look at how ansty everyone is over how the Joker will be portrayed (I include myself here.) Let's face it - if the Nolans screw that up, it's a major blow to the film, so getting a decent word of mouth about that particular plot point will go a heck of a long towards reassuring fans.

And there's the obvious point about whether the script overall is any good. Perhaps this is simply a matter of WB not resting on their laurels, as it were. They do seem to be rather panick-y at the moment with all the hiring and firing in terms of comic book-based projects.

I know Batman will NEVER do Spider-man/HP numbers, since it's not as commercial and has a narrower audience, but the film has a good shot at $250M US gross (maybe even $300). The fact is that after SR, WB is scared about their comic-based properties (hence all this quick firing and hiring). A script leak of TDK would be a way for them to reassure their core fanbase, and calm nerves.

Batman has a narrower audience? Cannot be as successful as Spider-Man? You obviously were not alive in 1989.

See In my eyes, Batman Begin's did underperform considering it's a Batman movie, doesn't mean it didn't still pull in impressive figures.

True test in my eyes will be what 'The Dark Knight' pulls in next year as it has ALOT less baggage attached to it than BB did.

BB was the first since Batman and Robin and people didn't have faith that a Batman movie could be good, plus it had been 8 years since a new movie. TDK is coming off a great movie in BB and it'll only have been 3 years.

TDK also has the mother****ing JOKER in it who im sure will contribute to getting more people into the theatre
