Say whatever you want about George Lazenby's performance as Bond, but you gotta admit that he's the best fighter.

I tried my best, but I couldn't find the AWESOME beach fight, BUT I did find the hotel fight.

The fight is one minute into the video.

I'd agree, he really looks like he knows how to take out the trash.

Intresting how the different 007s used to do the fight scenes. Roger Moore was always extremely careful and planned everything with the stunt men so no-one was hurt. Connery, on the other hand, would just let loose, and if someone got hurt, he'd say, "That's what they're there for."

I heard thats how he got the part. He beat someone up during the audition. lol.

When I think of Moore and fight scenes the first thing to pop into my head is the the judo chop. lol.

Connery didn't really do many of his stunt. Aside from the train fight in FRWL and his fight with Oddjob at Fort Knox he rarely did any of his fight stunts. For example, his fight in Thunderball with Colonel Bouvar, Connery, only filmed the insert shots. Everything else was his stunt double Bob Simmons.

That's true, but what I'm talking about is when he's actually in there throwing punches.

 Good call. I also love the shots of Bond and co in the helicopter at the climax. OHMSS definetly has the best editing and cinematography in any 007 flick.

Indeed.

I definitely enjoy the set up to the Piz Gloria assault. M sternly rejects any of Bond's musings, and then in the next scene Bond calls Draco for a "demolition job." Simply awesome!

The cinematography of OHMSS is fantastic (one of the best, along with YOLT and CR), but I've always thought the editing was one of its weaker points. Too experimental.

Correction. He WAS the best fighter. He's been surpassed by Craig.

Aside from the "we have all the time in the world" montage I saw nothing experimental about the editing. It was typical Peter Hunt.

Craig's fighting is similar to Connery. The bathroom fight reminded me of the train fight in FRWL. Lazenby is still the best fighter because I think in real life he's a great fighter and brought that to the role. In fact, I think the main reason Lazenby got the role was because he beat someone up during the audition. If I'm not mistaken, Lazenby was doing a screentest that required him to fight one of the stunt people and by accident he ended knocking the guy out. Saltzman then said, "we have found our new Bond."

Lazenby is a great Bond. I like to think of him as "The Forgotten Bond".

I wouldn't say great, but I do think he isn't as bad as some people claim. For an Australian model with little acting experience I think he did alright.

It's not the main reason. I'm sure it helped, but Lazenby's looks, height, cool attitude and smooth delivery, and resemblance to Sean Connery (he's not a Connery lookalike, but he's a Bond in the Connery mold) were what got him the role.

Okay, then I'd say he's near great, but only because he can't act well.

OHMSS is still one of my favorite Bond films.

wow lots of the fights in OHMSS looked sped up to me

EDIT: ok so i just watched the youtube clip, and some of it is definatly sped up

OHMSS as a film isn't bad. However, I dislike Lazenby's interpretation of Bond. To stay on topic, he's a good fighter, to be sure, but the fight scenes look awful, IMHO. Look at Dr. No, for instance. Not nearly sped up as much as this, which looks almost comical. One only needs to play Yakkity-sax over it to achieve that effect.

Same here! OHMSS is better than most of Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan films.

I like OHMSS better than all Moore films and Die Another Day, but Dalton is probably my favorite Bond. Don't mess with the Dalton.
