Leading the Charge: The Official "Channing Tatum is Duke" Thread

He's a bit young, sure, but Harrison's old and we lovingly embrace that he'll make the role amazing as Indy.

I don't see the comparison. Its more about inexperience and the quality of performance he can bring to the character for me.

At least it's not Mark Wahlberg though.

Marky Mark wasn't considered, was he? Wasn't most of that talk?

^ I think Wahlberg was considered back when Antoine Fuqua was going to direct it. It's a shame they couldn't get Sam Worthington. He would've nailed it.

He should be ok I think. Cole Hauser would of been a better Duke.

Damn... yeah, Cole Hauser WOULD have been awesome as Duke. I hadn't thought of that. I remember I really wanted him for Nick Fury, because he'd have been perfect. But instead we get... Samuel L. Jackson. Who will not play Nick Fury. He'll play... Samuel L. Jackson.

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again...Nathan Fillion would have provided great screen presence and charisma in the role of Duke. But obviously, the filmakers want to go younger. So here we have some young (more importantly, young LOOKING) dude playing the guy who's supposed to be the Joe's 1ST SGT! Well, at least the actor is southern. I had heard rumors that Duke would be from NY.

Fillion has too much charisma for Duke, IMHO. I think the cocky, headstrong Flint is perfect for Fillion. It plays better to his strengths as an actor.

I always said Tom Jane would be awesome as Duke. Far far better then this Tatum *****.

Well, if Duke is to be kinda the center point, then I don't think giving Duke more personality is a bad thing. In fact, I think it may well be necessary in this particular case. So Fillion is my choice.

Yeah, this guy would have been a darn fine Duke!

Nah Tatum is perfect for this he'll do good I have all the confidence in him....

walks out muttering* "Damn you Hasbro why didn't you go for the Hauser!!!! Got damn you Hasbro!"

No sir. James Fredrick Ryan, Minnesota.
SIR!? I work for a living! ;)

Seriously, I should stop thinking about other actors...it's too heartbreaking...

...I just can't believe their casting choice. I'm still in denial.

Tatum looks kinda Duke-ish...

Tom Jane looks more like Flint

i will hold judgment til the movie...

I'd never seen this Tatum guy in anything, but they have been showing Step Up like 24/7 on Starz, so I finally got bored enough to watch it. I think he'll be fine as Duke. He has the look, and he can act just fine. He's a bit too young as many have said, but we'll see once we get a trailer or some clips.

you watched step up? :(

you should give yourself a probationary banning. :p

Well, I didn't watch it all. :cmad: The girl was really hot. :o

I watched some of coach carter the other night. Tatum doesn't have many lines and was mostly just playing a Eminem style white ghetto kid.

We were supposed to see a teaser trailer last night at the Superbowl - unfortunately Wizard lied.

This coming from the guy who has a gif from a Justin Timberlake video as his avatar? :whatever:

While I may not like the dudes music, he has had Janet Jackson, Alyssa Milano, Scarlett Johnassen, Jessica Biel etc etc etc...

Channing Tatum has had a fistful of lube and a samwhich bag.

Dude can avvy JT all he wants
