Lee Bermejo and Brian Azzarello's Joker Graphic Novel

I've lost a lot of faith in this book. I've never read anything by this team, but the way the Joker is written is just rather bland. And he's a sheer displeasure to look at. Nolan's Joker, while grungy and oozing makeup, was still a lot of fun to watch and interesting to just examine. Bermejo's Joker is simply ugly, in a bad way.

The Riddler is...well, odd. It's an interesting interpretation I guess, a sort of classless genius, but they went about that in an odd way. It is, like the rest of it, kind of ugly.

In general, I don't like the look of the book, and when the titular character isn't written in a way that's likeable, it's a negative that tends to outwiegh all positives.

could someone do me a favor and rehost the pictures of the riddler? I missed out on them before that guys hosting failed.

Just preordered from Amazon. Can't wait.

I can't wait to see how bad ass Batman's gonna look. Everyone besides Riddler looks the **** in this.

Mind giving some examples? I quite liked his exchange with Tommy (or was it Tony) in the restaurant. Very Joker-like in how he nonchalantly walks back inside just to shoot the guy.

As for the look, it's very akin to Ledger's. I'd say it's even more faithful since it's just the lip scars that are non-traditional. They make for an interesting look however. Joker's smile stands out even more in every shot simply because of how big they are in relation to his face.

or his "you'd the know the place to hide...is insanity!!" to Riddler.

This Joker seems like Ledger's joker on speed, which is awesome because he seems more insane. More unpredictable.

This is a study of the Joker, of course its going to be dark and ugly.
I personally love this style and story

Too much! Though the artwork is pulling me in. Must... resist.... temptation...

Thanks for posting those Dark Victory!

I am loving this so far. The art is beautiful, and the writing is good. While in some of the other pages, I wasn't really feeling the way it was coloured, I really dig it in these few pages.

I really liked the Joker in these few pages. He went from serious "Don't ever apologize to no one for the way you look." to hilarious "You make me feel handsome."

And Joker's expression as he walks into Croc's meeting is badass.

at this rate, we've already read the whole damn book!

The book is 128 pages and so far I think about... 16 have been released through various sites. Let's hope they don't release more, cause I won't be able to help but read them. I wanna be surprised on November 4.

Why, in the preview on Batman-on-film and the Splash Page at MTV, is the Joker referring to Penguin as "Abner"? Is there something I missed?

It could be an inside joke between The Joker and The Penguin. Or maybe an allusion to The Penguin using aliases or something.

Does anyone think that page with The Joker meeting The Riddler remind anyone of The Usual Suspects when Keaton and his gang meet with Redfoot?
