Sci-Fi Leonardo DiCaprio enters "The Twilight Zone"

I hope the tween girls don't get all excited when they see "Twilight" in the title, thinking it's connected to those movies.

i hope they do get excited. and i hope that they share the same disappointment i experienced when i heard that they were making more vampire movies.

I don't think the Zone is an actual place, but the emotional state of the characters.

the opening theme describes it as another dimension; similar to the Darkside (Tales from the Darkside). that said, i think someone exploring it would be really boring. or, at least, not as fun as being told multiple scary/weird stories; taking place within the Twilight Zone.

Yeah, but I chalk that up to Rod Serling's style of writing.

maybe but it seems almost impossible to attribute it to the character's mental state. what about when that little girl fell through a weak point in the wall and they had to send a dog in after her? that was clearly another realm.

In my country it got a different title which roughly translates to "The 5th Dimension". Either way i can easily see the film being about somebody trying to explore what the twilight zone really is or taking advantage of it.

Twilight Zone… MOVIE…?

Those are dangerous waters…

Just make a show that's better than the last one. Never a bad time for a Twilight Zone show, but there's just no need to try a movie again ever imo.

On the TV side, I wonder if a reboot/revival/etc’s presence has been rendered obsolete by Black Mirror.

But on the film side, I don’t see it either. Putting aside the obvious morbid element of the last attempt… it’s an anthology. I guess you could do that on film too, but idk…

I would understand networks thinking that, but really, Black Mirror has a very specific focus. If anything, it has shown that audiences still have a taste for that style of storytelling. I think there's plenty of potential for those kinds of stories that aren't centered around technology.
