Spider-Man is a ridiculously agile, acrobatic freakshow. He can do things no other human being can do. That requires CG.
Whatever you think of the Raimi films, they nailed how Spider-Man should move through the air. Things like zipping through that tiny space on the 18-wheeler, or jumping into the train and swinging on the pole? Perfect.
Holy overreactions, Batman. They're not saying they're not using any CGI, just that they're toning it down and using more practical effects.
I was looking at a couple reels of the guy that's doing the stunts for Spider-Man, and I have to say, they got the right man for the job. I mean, just watch 2:55 in the 1st video, and 0:23 in the 2nd video.

Agreed. I don't want to see parkour Spider-Man throughout the whole film. Howeve,r the parkour still still looke great, especially in those 2 videos posted. As long as there is a great combination of CGI Spdier-Man and parkour, I'll be happy. They just need to do it right. If I see Spider-Man chasing down a villain using parkour I am going to throw popcorn at the screen. Spider-Man can jump 20 feet in the air, run on walls, and swing...he doesn't parkour.

Exactly! The "realism" that was in Spidey form the start way back in 1962 was just to an extent. Raimi's films showed this, and I want this one to do the same.Yeah, thats what I was thinking about that too.
Balance between GCI, parkour, AND Spidey`s power are GOOD.
If I see so called the`realism Spidey`. I am out.
Also I was thinking why would they add that ugly Nike shoe as part of Spidey outfit b.c of the realism?? Give me a break.
Sony people need to remember that Spidey is an fictional character that came from the comic. Seriously.

They lucked out (said by Sony's head of visual effects) because LOTR wasn't released that year as planned. Google the acceptance speech if you don't believe me.
^ Genius.
What you stated as "facts" is actually, just your opinion. Now, that's a fact.
