According to Total Film, Harada (Silver Samurai) charges his katanas with (tachyon) energy to turn them into a sort of lightsaber.

Hugh Jackman confirmed there will be a few new mutants in the movie, but I wonder if Harada will be using the mechanical suit Iron Man style. That glowing katana did kinda look like a lightsaber.

After watching his performance in Elektra, Will was the only guy in my mind that I wanted to play Kenuichio Harada.

The cool part is Hugh Jackman even retweeted my suggestion for Yun's casting for the role last July! So glad I got my wish!

The Silver Samurai having a full mask is interesting. Can't wait!

Welp it's in the trailer. I've explained it earlier, but you guys will just have to wait and see it in the movie if you don't see it in the trailer clearly. I can't say it's a spoiler since its in the trailer, but they do come off.

It's the scene on the factory warehouse bridge setting, with the giant "silver samurai" , the "lightsaber" (as mentioned above) comes down on one set of his claws. You can see the frame of the orange lit sword coming down, and later in the trailer for a split second Logan is laying down facing the shed skin of Viper with a singed off pair of claws. There's a very slight orange glow to them. It must be seen in 1080p under the best viewing conditions to see it.

I will try and screen cap it when I'm at my desktop,

I don't know how he's gonna bounce back from that.

I've seen a screen cap of it. His hands are facing directly at the screen so it easily could be the perspective.

I understand how some could think that, but if you truly understands perspective and depth and realize that wolverines claws are not perfectly parallel in the movie, it's pretty clear.

In no way would all 3 of his claws be facing directly toward the camera, unless they were all 100% straight and parallel(even then you would be able to tell the depth in real time. I know angles and perspective very well, I'm a sculptor and art student, and I also know wolverines claws perfectly. We would see the depth on the 1st and 3rd claw no matter what if they were perfectly facing the camera. In the frame they all appear exactly the same.

Also the shape is off, the claws have a design to them that reflects light of the front, they are beveled to give the sharp points. In the frame you can even clearly and directly compare the cut claws, to the in tact claws on the other hand and realize what the difference is.

Again, in no way, in any right sense of perspective and logic would his claws look cut off if they were just facing the camera. They look cut off because they are removed, not because they are just facing us.

Im back with some screencaps as promised, this is the Image unedited, You can clearly see the roughness of the nubs already...

here is an image I boosted the contrast and saturation on to show more clearly the subtle orange glow on the claw nubs.

Again, if you understand perspective in the slightest, you will know there is NO WAY that its just the claws facing the camera. You would see depth on the 1st and 3rd claws, and as you can compare directly for people who don't understand perspective, Take note of the difference in the 1st (top) claw, they are at pretty much the same angle. The nubs would be much much smoother and curved, like in the other hand.

Im sorry folks, your eyes are tricking you. Trust me They get lobbed off. Wether its a dream sequence, a drug trip, or real time, we will soon find out how and why!

Yeah, definitely looks like the claws on his right hand got cut off clean.

The more I look at it, it does look like they were chopped off. If they really do get cut, I imagine his bone would heal back just fine, just not the metal obviously.

The only thing I could think of that would mean they werent cut, after looking at the picture more, is if he were just in the midst of resheathing his claws. But it does appear that they look rougher there.

Damn, they weren't joking when they said that Wolverine would be at his weakest if they indeed cut his claws. He might use his sword to fight Silver Samurai.

If his claws were cut, he couldn't place it back easily. He would need a major surgery and he would need to find adamantium.

Hmm, well it wouldn't bother me as much as that, Im sure Logan wont voluntarily cut his claws off in this situation haha. Hopefully theres some sense to it, unlike Iron Man 3.

I agree and I hope so haha itd probably hurt like hell too.

If his claws were cut, he couldn't place it back easily. He would need a major surgery and he would need to find adamantium.

He'd need surgery for the adamantium, but not to regrow the claws. The bone would grow back itself.
