Lets Go To The Cinema To Chat And Be an Annoying So and So.

Mummy 3 was the one movie I almost walked out of. And if I hadn't been taking my mom there for her birthday, I would have.

Unfortunately, she likes bad moves and enjoyed it enough to make it to the end.

If I would have walked out like I wanted, I would have gotten one.

I think everyone covered what your errors were in this matter.

When I went to see Frost/Nixon the boyfriend wanted to see Taken if our first choice was sold out. I clued him in that it would be a rowdy crowd, it was opening weekend. We got the last two tickets to the Frost/Nixon, whew. We had to sit in the front row.

Wait, did you go on Valentine's Day?!

I don't usually like chatting/noise either, but I feel for some films it adds to the experience. Such as comedies and horror flicks.

Just got back from a packed house for 'Friday the 13th'. Plenty of people commenting, laughing, talking, etc. But it wasn't the annoying kind. Felt like watching a movie with your best friends, everyone was cool with each other. Made the experience much for fulfilling than without.

Maybe you guys should stop going on friday and saturday nights ? And go to huge ass multiplexes because they aren't as crowded as the other theaters. You are bound to still run into jackasses but you have less a chance of doing so.

I hate when people talk during the movie, thats why I stopped sitting beside my lovely mother.:)

The only time I want a packed theater is when it's a horror movie. and even then, I want it packed with more black or Latino people. If you've ever seen a scary movie with one or both groups of people, then you know how much it can intensify the experience....especially the commentary when the white girl running through the woods falls on her face haha. ATP and I saw Quarantine in a theater full of black people. Best night EVAR!

I've got to admit, a full house tends to work for comedies. People can't talk because they'll miss the jokes, and when everyone laughs, it's freaking awesome.

Went to see Role Models on opening night (first opening night flick for me in years) and was afraid the crowd would screw it up. One of the best movie experiences ever! :D

I went to see The Grudge by myself one time (the only movie I've ever watched by myself... don't ask me why). The whole row that decided to sit next to me was a bunch of black girls. So I was there, sitting between a bunch of black girls.

During the WHOLE movie... they kept grabbing me and screaming!

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH... he's gonna kill that lil Japanese girrruuuhlll!!!!"

"AAAAAAAAAAAA... oh NOOOOOOO... RUUUUN BUUFFFY!"

"oh, sorry, this movie is crazy!"

me, "it's ok"

It was surreal.

Most recent time was The Dark Knight

When the infamous pencil trick happened, these two chicks behind me go in a loud almost shrieking voice...."ewwwwww that's so diiiiisssssgggguuuuussssttttiiiinnnngggg"

To which without thinking twice, i turn and say in a jokerish voice
"Would you like a live reenactment ?..... *normal voice* no, well can you keep quiet, please''

My friends would do that when we're going to see a movie that I haven't seen but they have. I'm trying to watch while they're constantly cracking jokes like it's MST3000; I'd have to tell them "hey, you're the ones who wanted me to see this movie so could you shut the **** up so I can watch it?".

Haha, crazy

My funniest moment was when I saw Halloween Resurrection (don't ask I'm a huge fan of Michael and saw it in theaters despite it's ******ness) and there was a black lady behind me who towards the end of the film got a little too into when Michael was chasing the final girl, the girl slipped in the blood of Tyra Banks and as she got up and hid Michael comes in the door. The black lady says (more like shouts) ''I hope he slip and fall in that **** too!". The few people in the audience died laughing at her.

Another lady in front of me saw Michael stab Busta Rhymes, obviously thinking him dead, stood up and said to her friend ''That it's they killed Busta, let's go!" and she left. I bet she was pissed when she found out he survived that movie. :hehe:

So i take the missus to see that new friday the 13th today (dont Bother your not missing much) only to have film ruined by people in the cinema left right and centre chatting, answering phones and texting.

Why go to the cinema if your not even gonna watch the movie? why pay to see a movie your not gonna even watch? What do these people not understand about the adverts that say 'turn off your phone'? Is their text message really that important?

I really needed to get this off my chest as i am sick of people talking in the cinema (not to mention a group of French people have a good old chin wag during Phantom of the Opera, not the film the show).

Are you one of those that feel its ok to chat during the movie because if you are you really get on my tit's.

Maybe try sitting to one of the sides of the theater. You know most people sit in the middle from front to back. So lessen the chance of seeing a phone light up or hearing people talk by sitting away from them. I know it kind of sucks to possibly have to do that, but since there are no physical laws stating no phones or talking, you are just going to have to put up with it. I have actually had no problems going to the opening midnight showings. Most of those people are the real fans of the movie and they want to see the movie and not just make it a social event. They talk before and after the movie, not during.

My best piece of advice I can give is try if you can to see a movie on a weekday and see the earliest showing you can ( the 12pm show is the best ). For one at that time there are little or no teenagers there. In fact you may have the whole show to yourself which is a good thing for you ( a bad thing for the theater but screw them and their over priced food. ). I know it can be hard to get with you wife on a weekday for a movie, but that my friend is your only option other then surfing the web for a bootleg and watching it at home. I know a couple of good sites for first run movies that I use for just your reason. I hate people talking and texting at the movies. I had to put up with someone in front of me when I saw The Dark Knight talk on his cell through the whole movie giving whoever he was talking to a pay buy play of the whole thing. I think there should be a law, that you can kill one stupid person a year. I bet there would be a lot shot at the movie theater.

Some people are just like that, they just need to talk during the damn movie and ruin it for other folks.

You every have someone ask you what's going to happen next in a movie even though you're both seeing it for the first time? THAT's annoying.

I've seen a couple a movies where people were being rude. Usually I just politely ask them to ****. Other times, especially with teenagers, I politely ask them to **** and then I move to a new seat.

Seeing movies on Sundays or in the afternoon instead of at night usually pay off more.

Hahahahaha, I love it

Has anyone here ever have to deal with that annoying 14 year old who thinks he is so awesome, cool, and funny...and brings a ****ING LASER POINTER and starts playing with it during the movie and pointing it at people's butts and nose holes?

Happened to me, I was so mad I thought I was going to murder him in cold blood :o

LOL My wife does that watching movies at home. She always asks me questions like, Who is that?, Why doesn't he just do this insted?, and it goes on. She does it mostly with movies I have seen in the theater with out her and she is just now watching on DVD. I just know I am going to have to see Watchmen by myself first or she will ask me too many questions about it for me to enjoy it. And yes I know she could read the graphic novel first but she will not do it. She thinks it if for kids and doesn't belive me that it is an adult story.

I don't need a running commentary of what's going on in the movie.

I also don't like it when people have to explain to other people what's going on, and why so and so is doing something. :cmad:

I like going to see movies with geeks because for the most part they know to shut up and enjoy the movie even on opening night.

When I went to see Star Wars Episode II, some old guy was sitting right in front of us with his (I assume) granddaughter, and he kept explaining the whole movie to her: "that's a bad lady, she's trying to kill the princess".

If she's too young to understand without a running narration, she's too young to be in the theater in the first place.

People have KILLED my desire for opening nights/weekend nights! Dark Knight?? FORGET IT! I went on Saturday morning at 10:00am...STILL a soldout show, mind you, but still. Much more stable crowd!

With movies like TDK it is best to attend the opening midnight screening. Experience have taught me that it is the best crowd because everyone is there to watch the movie.

People who talk and text during movies aren't really there for the movie. They just wanna hang out with their friends.

Don't get me started on people who bring their kids to a Rated R movie like after 9:00 pm.
