Okay! Okay! Let's say that one of your favorite movies was made in another decade! Right? Now, who would you have cast?

I'll start to give you guys an example!

Let's say that after the success of Batman in 1989, Spider-Man went into production for a 1990 or 1991 release date. This is who I would have cast back then:

Johnny Depp as Peter Parker/Spider-Man

Jennifer Connelly as Mary-Jane Watson

Willem Dafoe as Norman/Green Goblin

River Phoenix as Harry

Ed Asner as JJ Jameson

Robert Townsend as Robbie

Jack Palance as Uncle Ben

Jessica Tandy as Aunt May

Now your turn!

Back then? : Jennifer Connelly = absolutely delicious!

What was the name of that film she appeared in when she was locked up in a Target store with some guy?

All I remeber is when she was riding that nickle machine horse and sucking down a soda :yay:

ah.... fond memories

I donno about her playing Mary Jane tho for the Spiderman film though.../shrug.

Jaws in the 90's

John Cusack as Brody
Nick Nolte as Quint
Nicolas Cage as Hooper

DEFINITELY not one of my favourite movies, but fun to imagine nonetheless: The Phantom Menace, circa 1977.

Anakin Skywalker: Rick Schroeder

Obi-Wan Kenobi: dunno... Malcolm McDowell or Martin Sheen

Qui-Gon Jinn: Tom Skeritt or Steve McQueen

Padmé: Jodie Foster

Senator Palpatine: F. Murray Abraham

Mace Windu: Richard Roundtree

I thought this thread was gonna be about Ghostbusters II

You're a good man, shenhelms

assuming you are a man

Spider-man 1990:

Peter Parker - Michael J. Fox, small, sort of dorky looking, great actor.

Gwen Stacey - Winona Ryder, because lets face it, were this made in the 90s they would've had to use Gwen and Ryder has the girl next door qualities of Gwen and looked just like her during the early 90s

Harry Osborne - Leo Dicaprio, would've been perfect.

Norman Osborne/Green Goblin - Bit of an unconventinal choice...but Craig T. Nelson. He has the acting chops, looks the part and would've been at his pique in 1990

Uncle Ben - John Mahoney...hell, I think he should've been Uncle Ben in 2002.

Aunt May - Marion Ross, just dye her hair.

Doc Ock - Brian Cox.

Spider-Man 1990 (continued)

J.Jonah Jameson - Who else but R. Lee Emery?

Robbie - Danny Glover

good god, man that would have been brilliant.

If I were making Batman in 1989 I'd have cast Kiefer Sutherland as Batman and Willem Dafoe as the Joker.

now, I love Kiefer as you'd imagine, but 89 Bats should've been either Alec Baldwin or Johnny Depp (if we're going for a more Begins-esque approach), and that is a scientific fact.

Dafoe would've been perfect for the Joker though.

70's X-Men.

Jack Nicholson. Wolverine.

Steve McQueen. Cyclops.

Nuff said.

If Burton is still the director Sutherland wouldn't work, or at least he wouldn't be better than Keaton. Saying that, I would go against Burton as the director

Dafoe gor Joker no doubt, I think he is one of the absolute best actors of his generation, and still is one of the very best out there

I'd actually want Schumacher to direct. Just have somebody tell him to make it dark instead of flaming.

No way. Al Pacino IS wolverine. Short, powerful, attitude, badass. He's just too old now.

I think Nicholson would be perfect Wolverine, if they were making X-Men in late 70s.

I mean, just look at this bastard in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest :D

You know...I thought about that too. But, I didn't include it cause Gwen wasn't in the 2002 version.

Harry Osborne - Leo Dicaprio, would've been perfect.

Wasn't Leo like 10 years old in 1990

Umm, no, he would've been 16 or 17, which would've worked for the origin movie in which Harry and Pete were graduating high school.

Now, just say what you and everyone else was thinking. "Your cast was *****in' Matt"

And, by the way, Clint Eastwood would have been Wolverine if they would have made X-Men in the 1970s
