Let's have FUN!

Umm, no, he would've been 16 or 17, which would've worked for the origin movie in which Harry and Pete were graduating high school.

REALLY?! Damn, Leo is that old? wow!

Robbie - Danny Glover

I think Robert Townsend would have been a better choice. Back in 1990 Danny Glover was a big star because of the Lethal Weapon films. He wouldn't have accepted such a small role. If they would have gotten Glover they would have had to expand the part.

I didn't hear a "Your cast was *****in' Matt"

Your cast was good. :)

But, I think mine was good as well. :)

Lethal Weapon was made in '87 and its success was a curse for Glover, by the early 90s a lot of his work was voice acting because he was type cast in his role from Lethal Weapon. His only other notable role during the period was Predator II. He would've accepted a role like Robbie...plus he has the perfect personality for it.

Your supporting cast was good but I take issue with a few of your leads.

Johnny Depp is far too much of a pretty boy for Peter.

Jennifer Connelly while smoking hot, just isn't the right type of actress for Mary Jane. Early 90s, the choice for MJ is obvious....

Angie Everhart

As for Norman, Willem Dafoe would've been too young. He was only in his early 30s back in '90. He would be playing the father of a 17 year old, and a multi-millionaire industrialist. He was too young at the time.

Well, he made Lethal Weapon 2 in `89 which was a bigger hit. I'm sure thats why he got Predator 2. So, I don't know, I would think he would have wanted a bigger role in Spidey.

You know...Johnny Depp made Edward Scissorhands in 1990. So, Depp is aware that he's a pretty boy and likes to take roles where his good looks are hidden. Hence Edward Scissorhands! I think Depp would have been great in 1990 or `91. Plus, look what he did with Jack Sparrow. The man is the best actor of his generation. So, why question him?

You're gonna take Angie Everhart over Oscar-winning actress, Jennifer Connelly.

Moving on...

This may seem a bit odd, but its a fun thread...right? :yay:

Dirty Harry in 2006 :o

Hugh Jackman as Dirty Harry

James Franco as Scorpio Killer

Here's a tough one! Let's say The Godfather was never made in 1972 and studios waited till 2006 to FINALLY adapt the novel. Who would you cast? This is a VERY tough choice, but here we go:

Robert De Niro as Vito Corleone
godsendpreg.jpg

Leonardo DiCaprio as Michael Corleone

Kate Winslet as Kay Adams

As for the rest, um, probably unknown actors, character actors, stage and tv actors. I don't know

The Graduate, 2006

Tobey Maguire as Ben Braddock

Susan Sarandon as Mrs. Robinson

Natalie Portman...

...or Anne Hathaway as Elaine Robinson

Edward Scissorhands and Jack Sparrow both require a lot of make up. It would be impossible for him to hide his good looks in a role like Peter.

Yes. Just because Connelly is a great actress doesn't mean she is right for every role. It is like Christian Bale, because he is good at Batman doesn't mean he is suddenly perfect for everything. She is a good actress, but Mary Jane isn't her type of character.

Exactly, because it was the only work he can get. After Lethal Weapon Glover's options were incredibly limited. That is why he did cheap sequels, voice acting, and ****ty small budget movies. He would've taken it. Besides, Glover is a fan of the source material.

Whatever. Pete isn't an ugly guy. He's geeky but not ugly. If he were ugly he wouldn't have dated Betty, Gwen, Felicia, and MJ.

Besides, Depp is the best actor of his generation. He would have pulled off. :)

Yes. Just because Connelly is a great actress doesn't mean she is right for every role.

Why not? MJ is a model and actress. Just like Connelly. Atleast Connelly can relate to the character.

1990's Dick Tracy was originally supposed to be made in the early 1980s with a script by Tom Mankiewicz. Who would you have cast?

For some reason Harrison Ford seems like an obvious choice:

But, after playing both Han Solo AND Indiana Jones I'm sure he would have turned it down.

Maybe a younger De Niro could have played the part

Late 1940s' / 1950s' era Batman Begins:

Batman / Bruce Wayne - Gregory Peck

Alfred Pennyworth - Claude Rains

Jim Gordon - Henry Fonda

Rachel Dawes - Gene Tierney

Ra's Al Ghul - Vincent Price

The Scarecrow / Jonathan Crane - Jimmy Stewart

All I can come up with. Lucious Fox is a hard one especially, since there was not a great deal of black actors working in that time period.

Those two characters didn't exist in the 1940s. You are better off doing Batman `89.

I think Nicholson would be perfect Wolverine, if they were making X-Men in late 70s.

I mean, just look at this bastard in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest :D

no way. if wolverine were cast in a 70's X-Film, the one and only choice is Clint Eastwood.

Exactly! How someone can think something else is beyond me!

I call this, Spider-Man 1985 ;)

Emilio Estevez as Peter Parker/Spider-Man (controversial choice)

(Tell me if you can't see the pic.)

Heather Locklear as MJ

Phoebe Cates as Betty Brant

Michael Douglas as Norman/Green Goblin

Burt Lancaster as Uncle Ben

Now, I wait for Matt to complain. :o

bumpage...

having just watched Rocky Balboa (great film, btw), here goes:

Rocky: dunno really. this is extremely hard, Rocky's as much Stallone's character as Indy is Ford's.

Adrian: Bryce Dallas Howard

Paulie: Kevin Pollack

Mickey: Jon Voight

Apollo: Jamie Foxx
