With the "information" of the possible incorporation of Supeman's nemesis Lex Luthor. I will ask this... what do you think his role will play in here. and of course everything else related to his presence in David Ayer's film.

Weighing in, I'd also like for him to be the target. And then in a plot twist he is the one who hired Waller to hire them in the first place. Make it a sick Nolan-esque plot!
 
I'd rather he be a target than a puppetmaster of the team.
 
I like the idea of both. He sets himself up as a target in order to make one of the Squad or possibly Waller herself attainable for his own purposes.
 
If the current rumor about what a funereal procession in BvS means, then I say he is the one pulling the strings on the team. Perhaps from a certain shaped office.
