can lexi alexander really do the punisher justice?

i haven't seen mean street hooligans, but i've heard nothing but good things about it. i've been meanin to borrow it from my friend but i keep forgettin to do it. anyway, she seems like a much more adept director than hensleigh and judging from her blogs, it seems that yes, lexi alexander will indeed do the punisher justice.

I believe she'll do an excellent job, and make a Punisher film that will live up to its name. I just hope they give her the budget she needs to get the job done.

Its called Green Street Hooligans. You're probably thinking of Martin Scorsese's old movie Mean Streets.

Yes, Green Street Hooligans is definetly a good film. I think she has the right style as a filmmaker to be the director of a Punisher movie. My only concern is for the script and how true it stays to the character and source material.

Ive heard a lot of good things about green street hooligans too, especially about the fights in that movie...so we can definitley look forward to that...I also have read some of her blogs and it seems like things should be kool. Her and Ray Stevenson seem to be understanding the character.

Hey, that was Elijah Wood!

I'm glad you posted that. I was unfamiliar with her work and am going to admit to something that makes me sound a bit sexist. I was somewhat concerned when I found out a young, pretty girl was going to be directing this movie. I wondered if she would be able to hit the essence of the character.
But after watching the above, my fears have been placated. She looks like she is more stylized than Hensleigh was which is a good thing.

Glad to hear I helped out. Judging by the scenes in Green Street and by the clips of Ray Stevenson kicking ass in Rome, its obvious we have the right people on board for the film.

My only concerns have been the script details that leaked.

Never seen any of her films but I hope she does good with this one.

I bought and saw Hooligans today... It's not bad, not bad at all. Lexi could pull this off!

she may look pretty, but she'd kick your ass being a former kickboxing and karate world champion and all. but yeh, she's definietly got more style than hensleigh. he kinda struck me as... a typical cliche hollywood director.

As long as she understands the significance of the skull emblem and we see Stevenson in it more than half the movie I'll be in on cloud nine.

I think she's going to do a good job :)

Not bad. I was hoping for that guy from the TV series The Shield to give it a more realistic gritty feel.

There is a big difference between street hooliganism and an ex marine blasting heads open and bodies apart w/ shotguns, automatic arms and explosives.

For me this film is going to rest on how explicit the violence on screen is going to be. I want to go watch it and be surprised by how gory it is.

That is the world that the Punisher lives in, shying away from it and not showing blood soaked floors w/ bodies piled up and innards strewn everywhere will just be another cop out as far as I see it.

I'm sure most of you have seen the John Rambo showcase reel, that at least is the level of gore that we need to see on screen. I want the MAX action brought to film, why take anything less?

Needless to say I am not holding my breath.
