The negativity and fear is being chipped away huh? I'm happy with everything I've heard so far.
It sure is, AD.The negativity and fear is being chipped away huh?
Being a fan of the comic before being offered the project would be a MASSIVE plus for a director, but I don't think it's totally neccesary. It's not like we were all born as fans of the character... we were all new to it at one point or another.
I would love to know who else was on that list of potential Frank Castles sent to Lexi by Marvel.
I never said that you have to be a fan to make a good movie out of it. Just it is in fact a plus when someone knows the character inside and out when adapting it.
Overall, I was just curious about why they picked her to direct is all. As for the not all born as fans of the character. If I were a director and they asked me to direct a property I knew nothing about I would most likely turn it down because I wouldn't want to cram in all the history of that character in a couple weeks time like cramming the night before a major test. It just wouldn't turn out great.
Even if you haven't had much experience and get offered a Marvel picture? I doubt you wouldn't do it. Very few of them have failed to open up at #1, at least their first weekend up... talk about exposure. In any case, I believe that as long as she reads some of the more major comics and (most importantly) understands the script she's been given to work with, she's doing her job. It honestly isn't as difficult as you're making it sound to sit down and read Punisher comics, and to understand them.
Two things don't think you know me.
I'm not trying to be sexist but what makes her right to do a Punisher film?
