That's kinda depressing.Your life is prescious to you because ultinmately it is all you have and will ever have.
The thing is, the thought of non-existence really doesn't bother me in the slightest.
As long as it isn't pain, or loneliness or something bad like that, who cares?
No, it doesn't. If you don't exist, there's not even silent blackness. You'll never miss not laughing or smiling. You'll never even think of a woman again. It's not really scary in the slightest to me.Yes but non-existance also means your never going to laugh or smile again. Your never going to see another beautiful woman or another sunset. Your never going to see color or hear music.
Nothing but silent blackness for the rest of eternity.
Well, when the only people who offer "proof of an afterlife" appear on the talk show circuit, why should anyone believe them?
And for those who don't have a reason to believe in a god-claim, we need something called proof. A book doesn't offer any, nor does some dude speaking to a congregation

Well, of course. I'd still be alive. I'd still very much exist. We're talking about complete non-existence here, not just a inability to experience existence. So if you were about to be lobotomized to become a living vegetable you wouldn't fear losing your memories and ability to experience life/interaction?
I don't fear losing what I have now. I fear pain and unhappiness. If there is none of that, I have no fear. The point is you fear losing what you have now. It doesn't matter that your ability to care will be gone.

although i choose the third one Id risk my life in a moment for my best friend and my girl friend.
But if I don't exist to care, it doesn't matter to me. At all.So what about losing the good aspects of existance. You don't only lose a few of them, you lose THEM ALL!!!

You know how we often hear this:
"Life is precious". Is it really? (Anyone who posts here and say this is an "emo" thread, I'm gonna kick your arse!!) Are all human life equal? Or is the value of one Life greater than another? Who puts value in our Life? Society or us, as individuals?
I'd like to know what do you think the value of your Life is and why do you put such a value to your Life. What are the criterias for your appraisal?
Thank you for your time.
