Limitless - CBS Continuation of the Film

I don't like of the procedural series, but Limitness caught me.
The serie is nice, with many funny situations and moments interesting.
I guess that the effects (balloons, numbers flying and scenes in the Jake head) give to show a visual cool (but this isn't new, who watched Numb3rs know what i said).

And the plot is realistic (already exist drugs to improve the inteligence and performance), the crimes are solved with good arguments and i'm felling well watching the serie.

But, I think that the writer should be avoid some narratives, how using the family Jake to do the public understand his bad decisions. To man more inteligent in the world, betray the FBI is not a good idea.

i'm really enjoying the show. it's probably my favourite out of all the new shows this year.

That is some nice fitting hacktism, there at the end.

Loved how they flat out didn't even try to explain the cyber babble of hacking.

Was that the mid season final tonight or is their still any episodes before the new year? Definitely had the feel of a mid season cliffhanger

With how CBS does things, it's probably taking a week or two off before maybe airing 1-2 more episodes during December.

Really liked how they did things tonight with all the hacking since the technical stuff would go over most viewers' heads and be wasted time.

The Ferris Bueller episode was gold (oh and Carpenter as Sloan :hrt: )

The episode 10 was nice, again.

This was sentimental without abuse of cliches. The father's story is interesting, the necessity to build the relationship with him, now that he know a lot of things. And this episode shows how the Jake is a good actor, he is carrying the serie.

And finally, one villain won of the Brian. Show how he is not perfect, makes of the Limitness the best procedural serie at this moment.

So, I didn't see the last five episodes when they aired, but decided to give this show another go and I love that this show is so much fun. The Ferris Bueller episode was great and the montage at the end of the Bruntouchables episode was absolutely hilarious. Also, Jake McDorman and Jennifer Carpenter are just such likable leads .

I never saw Jennifer in Dexter but I LOVE her in this in fact I have been watching her on Dexter on Netflix :awesome:.

That was a really good episode. Casey was super creepy on NZT.

Was tonight a new episode? It's been repeats the past couple weeks I just assumed tonight a repeat

Nice episode again. The series so far has come up with entertaining ways to tell it's stories. Long may it continue.

It's interesting how the pill has affected the different people who've taken it. Rachel's dad got more creative. Brian has become a productive FBI consultant. The merc who took it ended up hallucinating and wandering through the woods. Casey and his SWAT team became paranoid killers and hostage takers. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Boyle if he ends up taking the pill he found.

Elsa shot Rocket Racoon!!!!!

That was a very good episode. I like how they are ramping up the Morra arc up slowly. Keeping the series episodic for the most part. Kind of like X-files.

[BLACKOUT]Really glad that Finch didn't kill Piper, though they really had me going. I like Georgina Haig, and I liked Piper. Her existence does potentially lead to breaking off Morra in the future.

Rebecca starting to be onto Morra is going to be fun to watch. The set up of the fall girl seemed a bit sloppy, though. Morra must've left that to Sands.[/BLACKOUT]

I like how Finch uses Mr. Rogers sweaters and leather jackets for his morality debates.

The internal conversations Brian has with himself are always funny.

So, I was totally turned off by this with the few eps I saw a couple months ago, but after seeing the positive responses here, I'll give it another chance. Any suggestions?

Where did you leave off, and what exactly turned you off. I would say, the show really hits its stride at Episode 7, Brian Finch's Black Op. The Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) episodes are probably the key episodes for the greater arc (Episode 1 and 6).

Just remember, the show is still very much an episodic procedural. They just have a lot of fun with it.

Yup. If you didn't like the broad tone of the first few episodes, there is a chance you still may not like it. But they have certainly amped the comedy aspect of the show in the last few episodes. So, I have a lot of fun watching it.

I think I saw episodes 2 and 4 or something random like that. I don't mind the procedural aspects at all. What throws me most, actually, is how different Finch's Limitless mode is from Eddie Morra's. Like... he was two different characters in a palpable way. Finch seems like the same guy... that's weird to me. But if the show was engrossing, I think I'd overlook that. I'll check out some of the later eps, and see how that works out.

I thought this weeks ep was the best so far, so is Piper going to be a regular?

They are starting to explore that a bit, that NZT affects people in different ways. In skills and personalities. Morra even stated in the last episode that Brian was resisting becoming a different person. We've had 5 perspectives of people on NZT so far, and they've all been different, though we've only really had in depth of Finch's and Casey's mental state on NZT.

I like that they seem to be keeping the emphasis on the fact that NZT is a drug, and not necessarily a good one to stay on.

I thought this weeks ep was the best so far, so is Piper going to be a regular?

Hopefully in the future. Likely not until they resolve the Morra issue.

I don't think she's going to be a regular as of now. They are still going to concentrate on the episodic nature of the series till at least the 19th episode or so. I'm only guessing, though.
