How exactly does the live-action interpretations of the X-Men stand-up against their animated counterparts (i.e., who is the more formidable team):
*Professor X (Patrick Stewart vs. Cedric Smith)

*Cyclops (James Marsden vs. Norm Spencer)

*Wolverine (Hugh Jackman vs. Cal Dodd)

*Beast (Kelsey Grammer vs. George Buza)

*Gambit (Taylor Kitsch vs. Chris Potter) - I'm not going to bother including "fake Gambit", Tony Daniels that showed up in the last few episodes

*Storm (Halle Berry vs. Alison Sealy-Smith) - I'm not including Iona Morris (even though she did come back to play Storm in the "Secret Wars" episodes of Spider-Man) only because Sealy-Smith was Storm much longer

*Rogue (Anna Paquin vs. Lenore Zann)

*Jean Grey (Famke Janssen vs. Catherine Disher)

*Jubliee (Kea Wong vs. Alyson Court)

the reason why the TAS kicked so much ass because their was time for character growth on each episode.

The problem w/the films was, imo, a few characters had no purpose or story, Cyclops, Storm, and Rogue, were just background characters...we never saw them develop over the course of the 3 films...in X3 we got the warrior in Storm, but we don't know we she was angry/hated humans...etc....

I think we should not compare these totally different take on the animated show in the 80s and these technological challenging movies. I loved the animated series and I didn't like the movies that much.

I think we should just leave it at that and move forward, hopeing we get to see more amazing, and better, X-movies.

I think Patrick Stewart is the only one who really beat his cartoon counterpart IMO. And Jubilee doesn't really count - she didn't even speak in any of the final versions of the movies. Scratch that, she did say "STORM!" in X2.

*Professor X - Live version.

*Cyclops - Cartoon. Definitely the cartoon.

*Wolverine - Tie.

*Beast - Tie.

*Gambit - Cartoon.

*Storm - I don't even think I have to answer that one.

*Rogue - Or this one.

*Jean Grey - I didn't like either. Famke was too old-looking and bland. The cartoon was too weak.

*Jubliee - I'll reserve judgment on that one.

The only reason I consider X3 watchable is Beast, Kelsey Grammer reminded me alot of Beast on TAS

the voice acting on that show was superb, i think the TAS wolverine was really good considering it was for a saturday morning cartoon, i think id give it to the animated serie though still

Ugh...This is such an unfair comparison.

You have like 1,500 minutes of animation compared to 300 minutes of live action movie.

I can't participate in that..
