Logan Logan spoiler thread discussion

It's worse than that.

Lemme guess...

It's like in the Old Man Logan comic, where Wolverine (or possibly Charles in this case, since he's got dementia) killed the X-Men on accident?

EDIT:

First off, the institution that created X-23 is responsible for the disappearance of mutants. I don't know the specifics but that's why there are not many around.

As for the X-Men, there's a reason Logan is taking care of Xavier. It's implied very heavily within the film that Xavier had an "episode" and wiped out all the X-Men except for Logan.

Yeeeeeeep. That's what I figured. That was a big part of the emotional baggage going on with Logan in the source material, so it makes sense that's kept to some degree here.

:wow:

okay, i hope deadpool 2 somehow deletes this movie :/

My friend/contact called LOGAN easily the best X-Men film, top tier superhero film. Easily.

Didn't we already know that tidbit about Charles? I'm almost positive I read an interview where they mentioned Professor X having an episode and wiping out a large chunk of mutants in New York.

I have heard that speculted so it sounds like that is true.

My friend/contact says that he can't possibly see a way for a Deadpool/Wolverine film now, after this film. It's too perfect an ending. And in reality, it ends the Singerverse of X-Men. That's how definitive he called the end of LOGAN.

Yeah, the report says Pierce says to Logan that what happened in New York was a tragedy or something like that (referring to Xavier and the X-Men)

Maybe whatever Professor X did was what trigged Logan's healing abilities to slow down/stop?

So Logan dies eh. I hope he goes out 'Logan' style.

He was never one for a righteous death

This makes me really giddy.

I love it when an artist or franchise manages to bring it all home for a perfect finale, like with Pink Floyd closing out The Division Bell with "High Hopes" or Rush ending Clockwork Angels with "The Garden." :hmr:

EDIT: But again, I gotta ask- does Logan take X-24 out with him or does Laura finish the job after Logan bites it?

Laura finishes the job....with the Adamantium Bullet.

from everything i have heard logan almost sounds like it would work as final
chapter in franchise.however it doesn't take a genis to conclude fox is likely
going to use cable's appearance in Deadpool sequels and X-force to negate
the future seen In Logan.Otherwise you could go why bother with more
X-Men films with apocalypse cast since we know they all die.

if audences respond well to X-23 it will be intresting to see how they would
use her again in future.

Logan gets thrown into a tree spike by X24 and dies while X23 holds him.

As much as I would love to see a Deadpool/Wolverine Movie, I would much prefer Hugh Jackman's character to meet a fitting end. I mean, as far as characters suiting the role, you could not ask for a better Wolverine than Hugh Jackman.

And to think, his wife begged him not to take the role as she thought it was stupid and would never take off...

Oh, you're absolutely right. They could easily do that. And they probably will. But, with this ending, I'm done with X-Men. This is the ending I wished for. It's like THE DARK KNIGHT RISES ending; definitive in my eyes.

Stewart isn't ready to say goodbye to Xavier yet, hopefully he knows something we don't!

Well, I suppose considering he's always been a loner, it's nice that he doesn't die alone.

Genuinely cannot wait to see this film.

He could cameo in the tv show pilot but overall Stewart didn't exactly ask to leave the role, its just that he happens to die in this movie because it was written in the script.

How would a bullet kill X-24? If he has the healing abilities Logan has it wouldn't matter what material it was made from?

In Wolverine: Origins, he gets shot with a Adamantium bullet and he heals...

Are we sure X-24 dies?

Stewart could appear on the X-men tv show rumored to be called heaven or pop up in X-force or deadpool sequel.
