Admittedly part of this is I want to see a gay actor be Superman on screen, but I'd love to see Matt Bomer as Kal. He's a great actor and he has the Superman voice down thanks to the All-Star Superman DTV.

The reason Matt Bomer should never play Kal-El n live action is because he's too short/small for the roe.

BTW Bomer didn't voice Superman in All Star Superman, he voice him in Superman: Unbound.

Matt Bomer is an inspired choice, given much like Routh and Cavill, has auditioned for Superman before.

Bomer is very good facially for Superman, but other than that I don't see it - he's too small overall. It's not even height (he's 5"11, so not in the Tom Cruise league of 'short') but he's just got quite a slim frame which doesn't really scream Superman to me.

Welling would be my choice.

Welling's time is done IMO (and I am a Welling fan), I would rather they found someone new though.

Bomer would be my choice but I can see why the slim frame might be off putting for some. His height really shouldn't be an issue though he's 5'11 and the boots would probably get him closer to six foot.

I for it. These shows do it all the time. Smallville brought Christopher Reeves. Supergirl brought both Superman & Supergirl back....Dean Cain & Helen Slater. Every will realize its stunt casting and you would make Smallville fans happy.

Well for those that want Tom Welling he didn't rule it out in that recent interview. I want someone new myself but I can't say I wouldn't be excited if Superman were to show up that it would be Tom Welling. I still doubt it will even happen though.

Why would he own up to something he ha said in the last he's open to? Honestly get your facts right. Also Smallville was a prequel show he didn't have the main say whether it turned into a full fledged Superman show. There were legal reasons they couldn't do that aswell as cost.

well with recent interview from welling saying he wouldnt really want to be superman. If he ever did the show which i hope he does he likely be some other character be it a comics guy or a for show creation. As for lois and clark i have no clue who i want to see in the roles.

That would suit me just find. If Tom did come back in the role, he'd have to be accompanied by Erica otherwise it just doesn't work.

I'd accept Erica as Lois, but Tom, as much as I liked him in the parts of Smallville that I've seen, has an attitude that leads me to believe that the only reason the show would even think about approaching him would be to say that it's used both of the men to play Clark Kent in the past 50 years, and I'd rather not see it stoop that low.

I agree 100% If there was ever anyone deserving of portraying Superman on a TV show it would be Tom Welling. It would make sense too since the Superman in this universe does exist and has been around for a while. Superman in the show is obviously going to be a small part cameo here in there. I'd love to see Tom Welling show up.

If not Tom Welling I'd even be fine with Brandon Routh, but well, he is The Atom now so that does not work out anyway. Other than those maybe go with an unkown, I just think it would be nice to see someone that was formerly in the role before as a nod. But its not a deal breaker with me.

Welling is done with the role of CLARK and didn't really care much about playing Superman.

Otherwise he would have ahem.... MANED up and wore a real Superman suit instead of a CGI suit and reused CGI models of Routh.

heck no to routh being on supergirl as superman. i hated his superman and not really a fan of him in the arrowverse. Again i am sure in tom tom and maybe some others from smallville will guest. but they dont need them to be lois/clark/lex or anything. they likely come in as a totally new character.

I think id actually prefer someone that didnt have the overly chiseled male model look like HC or TW and go for someone with more softer features like how Supes looks in All Star.
