Does anyone read this? It's a hilarious web comic. The order's not that well done tho as far as storyline so I'll post the eps as I think they should go.

I am surprised nobody's posted any Loli loves Venom comics. These are awesome.

I clicked here thinking wow there's no way that title could mean what I think it means.

And then it did.

:csad:

What a weird strip. I wonder why Marvel hasn't sued the creator yet...

Um, kawaii  ?

Awesome

I am flip-flopping. This is officially the greatest thing in the history of ever. I loved the hide & seek comics where the boy "disappears."

It's parody so IIRC the author's fully in the clear, as long as she doesn't start charging money to read it.

This is like a bizzare twisted version of Calvin and Hobbes.

and another origin story

I don't get it. Did Courage the Cowardly Dog just turn into gamma powered vampire-Spider-Man? And did Megatron kill Venom's parents? And over all, why is that supposed to be funny?

In the first one Venom is trying to convince the little girl that he was sent to Earth in a rocketship his parents built when his planet was about to self-destruct, and then found by honest salt-of-the-earth farmer folk who took him in and raised him up to fight for Truth, Justice, and wearing a cape. It is comedic due to the depiction of Venom childishly indulging in games of pretend, in contrast with his usual portrayal as a remorseless and vicious killer.

In the second one... yeah, that **** just ain't funny.

I don't get why Batman's origin makes Venom look like that weirdo from Death Note when he grows up...

also, why is the Joker a chick?

The one with him pretending he had a Superman origin is pretty funny.

Loli and Venom go to the carnival.

I love the play on Venom's noise weakness. That girl's a genius.

Later that evening.

I'm pretty sure that this is just showing the randomness of the origin story Venom is telling. First his parents are gunned down, then he's bitten by a radioactive spider, then he grows up to L. I love this comic.

Also, if you've never read Death Note, do it. It's ****ing brilliant.

Gunned down by Megatron. :)

I watched about half of Death Note before I lost interest. It seemed like the plot was looping around itself in a never-ending, exposition-laden spiral to nowhere. Also, it made me hate the phrase "in other words" more than I've ever hated any configuration of letters in the history of any language, ever.

Does the manga have the same deal as the anime where [blackout]L gets murdered 2/3 of the way through the story and then M and N turn up out of nowhere[/blackout]?

Cause I really enjoyed it up to that point and then it's like WTF is this ****?

Yes and no. The manga takes the time to put little hints in earlier in the series so that when it happens, it's still unexpected but not unbelievable. The anime follows the original story pretty close, but I've always felt the pacing was off. The comic takes its time when necessary, and goes fast when necessary. I love it because it's one of the very few stories, in any medium, that isn't based on the characters doing stupid things constantly. It's a fight between geniuses, and everyone else are just pawns.

Which, of course, leads to all those "in other words"es to dumb it down for all us plebs in the anime. God, I loathe that.

I can understand that. I'd give the manga a chance though. The translation on the anime isn't nearly as good as the manga.

I liked Death Note. It flows really well when you only catch every other episode.

I might give it a look. I did find myself enjoying the story, even though I'm really not a fan of anime or much of anything else from Japan. It just seemed to stop actually progressing after a while, and when that happened, I lost the one thing that could help me get past all of the annoying anime storytelling conventions.
