In regards to her voice, I feel Margot has achieved the correct balance between zany and realistic for the world Ayer has created.

Arleen Sorkin is amazing in my opinion and deserves all the credit in the world for giving Harley life (Literally, by inspiring Paul Dini) and her voice was perfect for the character. However, being animation, she was allowed to have a slightly heightened take on it.

This high-pitched, shrill voice most seem to be referring to is Tara Strong. Great voice actress... terrible Harley Quinn.

Margot seems to have gone for a toned down, cute version of Sorkin from The Animated Series days... and that's just fine by me.

Exactly. Seems some people are reading into that or over analyzing it way too much. And even in some trailer reaction videos on YouTube the people watching seemed so confused or baffled at that part and I'm just shaking my head like wow, really?

I'm the opposite. The more I see of her, the more I wish they went a different direction (though I'm glad they didn't use the BTAS outfit). Its really just the booty shorts, fishnets and high heels that bug me. They could have gone with pants, or even harley quinn-style thigh-high socks that I think would have been superior to this.

In any case, it looks like Robbie will knock it out of the park, which is more important.

I also said thigh-highs. But with the pants, I was imagining tight leather pants similar to one of her Arkham looks.
