Assault on Arkham didn't have Harley's Origin. It may also be part of the plot for Harley to keep her relationship with the Joker a secret.

I think SS is the perfect movie to show Harley Quinn origin. We don't know if she's stablished or if we are going to see her transforming in Harley.

Flagg or Deadshot's origin is more relevant to the Suicide Squad. Seems like the movie would go out of its way to tell Harley's origin.

Perfect movie for her origin would involve Joker, Poison Ivy, and Batman.

I need those two to meet on film. I love those two together. :hrt:

Ideally, I'd love to see a Gotham City Sirens movie.

A Sirens movie would be fantastic! I hope the upcoming female superhero movies succeed so that we get them.

Gotham City Sirens v Birds of Prey :P

Those are two of the three series I most want to see in the DCCU. :woot:

Just saw Margot in Focus. Not a terribly exciting character arc, but she dominates with her presence and is definitely hard to take your eyes off of. She's going to kill it as Harley. Will likely be the scene stealer if Joker isn't given lots of screen time.

The Vogue cover of Robbie... her face looks exactly like Harleen Quinzel (seriously, she looks ripped from BtAS' "Harley's Day Off"). And then in other shots, she looks like Tara Strong -- the current voice of Harley.

Not a bad comparison at all.

I think it may well be that we don't get full on Harley until the last third of SS. I think her "origin" is going to be tied into the plot in some way. So, let's say, she is doing a slow burn into madness... There's no reason that hooking up and playing Lawton for a fool can't be part of her plan to spring the Joker, now does it?

I'd always just assumed she'd be fully formed all the way though, but that's an interesting thought... Maybe she's part of the team performing psyche evaluations on the team members when they're forming the squad. Joker's not allowed to join, the Squad goes off on its mission... but Harleen is enthralled by him... starts spending more and more time 'analyzing' him, all the while not realizing he's pulling her further and further into his sick world. By the latter half of the third act, she's springing him from the prison and at the very end of the movie, putting on the Harley make-up/suit for the first time.

I'd actually kind of love that.

She's going to have lots of scenes with Deadshot, so it sounds like she's going to be out in the field on the mission at hand with the Squad. That probably means she's already Harley when the movie starts.

I didn't hear about her having a lot of scenes with Deadshot. Is that just speculation?

No, it's from something Margot said in an interview. She said Harley and Deadshot have lots of scenes together but she and Will Smith didn't have to do a chemistry read because of their prior work together in Focus.

Are y'all thinking Joker steals Harley from Deadshot?

Deadshot has in the past been a someone with a deathwish. Yes, they've tell me since the reveal of him having a daughter that there's been an easing up on that aspect. Does that totally mean that's the version we are gonna get? Maybe, maybe not. Ayer seems to like the old Ostrander Squad. Let's assume that Dr. Quinnzel is working in some capacity with Task Force X as a psychiatrist or a Profiler, ect. She could have lots of time with Lawton in that way and not necessarily as "Harley Quinn", moll to the Joker... Yet.

I think she'll either be Harley Quinn at the start of the film or she'll be well on her way to becoming Harley Quinn, unbeknownst to Waller and Flagg, and make that final turn quite early in the film. The character is too popular in her Harley Quinn persona to spend the entire film tracking her transformation with her only becoming Harley at the end.

Tracking her transformation though is a strong way to have the audience, the GA, connect with the character though, and helps the DCCU in general since you don't have to spend anytime in a Bat solo film on her origin since it's been taken care of in SS. And before I hear about how popular she is, ask most in the GA who she is or what she's about and most wouldn't have a clue. If Harley and Joker are to eventually go on to be featured in a Batman film going against BatFleck, then it's not out of the realm of PROBability that they will want to lay the groundwork for that duo elsewhere so as to free time up in the Batman film to get right into the meat of things.

She has quite a bit of exposure through the animated series and the Arkham computer games. Even though a lot of the general audience don't know her, she's known to enough moviegoers that she's worth more to the film as Harley Quinn than as Harleen Quinzel in my opinion. Even those moviegoers who don't have prior knowledge of her will find Harley going on a mission with the Squad an intriguing and entertaining character. The film can still get her origin out of the way, either dealing with it as backstory or dealing with it in the first act if her transformation is well under way.

I think the GA will probably not know that much about many of the characters (Joker aside). A quick run through of their backgrounds when they are being "recruited" will do the job and save having to go through everyones origin.
