Superman Returns LOOK UP IN THE SKY: THE AMAZING STORY OF SUPERMAN doc trailer

That looked way worse than the Holiday Special. At least the Special had the first appearance of Boba Fett. The Musical had some guy dancing and singing like an a**hole and that's it.

You said it.

Was it me, or did that guy playing Superman in that musical really resemble Frank Stallone (Sly's c-movie actor brother)?

I noticed the second "AL" from happy days was one of the thugs in the musical lol

I caught that as well, a great "WTF!?!" moment!

I loved the documentary. I think Jon Peters got way too much time. He shouldn't of even got interviewed. He wanted Superman to go the "Star Wars route". That was idiotic.

Tom Welling should've been interviewed.

I'm getting this DVD next week.

was this aired on TV?

i only got to see parts of it :(, the SR parts about Clark and Jimmy at the bar (?)-- and that was above the din of the party (aunt's birthday).

oh well, i'm hoping this would wound up in the SR DVD. not quite sure if i'll get that Best Buy version, since LOTR had a truckload of docs being sold everywhere then they all wound up in the Special Extended Edition DVDs  :D

Was it any good? I was thinking of buying or renting it.

It was great. I read somewhere they will re-air. Check out A & E for air times. If you're a fan of Superman you will love this one.

Well, I guarantee you will enjoy it. I saw it with my wife and she's not that much of a fan of comics, but she really enjoyed it.

Next showing is this next Saturday at 1 PM on A & E.

But, you know, in Peters' defense he did say that his approach was bad and he was an "idiot" and "wrong for 12 years" after seeing Singer's approach to the character. And, for better or worse, his version was shopped around for years. I for one was glad the special included some of the bad adaptations of big blue. And Peters' would've been the mother of all bad adaptations.

And Welling is the latest incarnation of Clark Kent, so he should be interviewed. But he's not Superman.

For the first time, I actually agreed with Jon Peters on something!

So let's take a poll, guys... which looked worse... the "Superman: The Musical" TV Special or... umm... SuperPUP?

The Musical was the worst for me. I wanted to beat that guy up.

Which is why he wasn't interviewed, Because he's not SUPERMAN or Mild Mannered Reporter : Clark Kent . He's still A Teenger dealing with adolescence {Which you'd think by Season 5 [18 years old], He'd start acting like a Mature Adult . Instead of a teenager with lot's of issue's.}

Also He doesn't know much of SUPERMAN History like Annette O'Toole .

Yeah, I had the same reaction. Just seeing this guy who looked like a de-bulked version of Sylvester Stallone bounce around a sound stage in a cheap Superman outfit while singing a Robert Goulet-esque power ballad made me want to put my head through a wall. I can't believe Leslie Ann Warren had the guts to audition for Lois Lane AGAIN after appearing in that travesty. You would have thought she would have tried to put as much distance from that character as humanly possible.

On a side note though, it would have been interesting to see Stockard Channing as Lois Lane. I think Kidder was still the best choice, but Channing would have been ver good too. She reminds me a lot of Golden Age (Earth 2) Lois Lane.
