LOST - But Not Forgotten...Except by the Emmys

Yeah I think it's Aaron. Jacob's the kind of crazy that he would plan to have a child born on the island and grow up to be the perfect leader, just like him. In fact, that would have been a bomb ending. In 20 years they should make a spinoff where Aaron returns to the island and replaces Hurley. I bet the island is the reason the psychic had such a strong connection with Claire and her flight.

It was mine first. :o

Well the Walt thing was just unfortunate because the kid got too old too fast. I wish it hadn't happened but it did.

But you could at least resolve his story in the final season. I understand Eko not being resolved because the actor who played him is a **** hole but they could have had Walt back.

I remember hearing set reports of Walt and I was excited and I kept waiting and waiting to see him. Then...I find out he is on a 10 minute short after the series is over

They mention in one of the episode commentaries that in-between filming season 2&3 that the actor who plays Walte grew nearly 2 feet which made him look alot older. They chose to trim his story back instead of recasting. Personally Michael and Walte annoyed the piss out of me. Michael constantly screaming about Walte and his boy just grated after about one episode. Its one of the reasons I don't rewatch season 2.

Micheal as a character is ****ing ******ed. He was never liked by me.

Same here, I could barely look at him in S2, but when Jack started going off on him in the season finale it was :awesome:

He was the one that caused her to get on the plane. There was no mystery surrounding Aaron then. I think this is in Season 1. He lied to her so that she would crash on the island because Jacob fixed the situation for it to happen like that. It was her destiny to get on that plane and crash on the island. It's interesting if you re-watch it how he is upset and then later he is fine and tells her to go to LA. He didn't want her to get on that plane so he was harsh to her. He later realized that it was her destiny and he was the one that told her to go to LA.

But back to Aaron. He was the first child born on the island. He was left alone by Claire who followed her dead father into the jungle and Kate took him in. Kate sees visions of Claire telling her not to take him back and Jack sees Charlie saying he wasn't supposed to raise him. Then in Season 5, Aaron is gonezo and nobody really cares.

My biggest complaint however is to do with Walt. He was built up so much in Seasons 1 and 2 and then they just threw him away. We even see him again in Season 4 or 5...I can't remember which. And then his character is wrapped upon in a 10 minute epilogue? That was pathetic.

Actually, Jacob, MIB, Ethan, and I think Miles were all born on the island. I'm sure you meant after the Incident though lol

I don't get why it's so hard to understand! The people that were in the church were there because they were all the most influential people in their lives. Once they found each other, they would be ready to move on. Some characters like Ana Lucia are "not ready". She still has a lot to learn in her flashsideways afterlife. Prob the same with Eko. He will probably be with Yemi. Faraday is being kept there by his mother most likely who I think is aware of her death, but isn't ready to let Dan go.

Agree, I thought it was clear not everyone was ready to move on yet. Ben wasn't either.

I wanted to note about Eko however. We know the real reason Eko wasn't in the finale is they couldn't get the actor back. But I noticed after just recently watching the episode where Eko is killed, Eko does not confess to "Yemi," because he feels he did nothing wrong. He made his piece with his life. And then at the end of the episode, we get a shot of young Eko & young Yemi walking off in the distance with a soccer ball, united again, with a golden colored light. It makes for a nice afterlife resolution for Eko.

yeah and eko wasnt really close with most the people in the church. His resoultion kinda came about on its own so for me he wouldnt have really fit in. Much like faraday

I just finished the whole dang LOST!!! WoooAaaarrggghhh!!!!

So why isn't Michael and Walt in the church lol

Its because Michael couldn't move on until he and Walt resolved some stuff. Watch the epilogue :yay:

Oic... Well that's sad...

That scene where Jin and Sun drowns was so sad! Even my mum stopped cooking and sat on the couch and watched it...

It made me tear up that is for sure.

So why did the smoke go around the island terrorizing people throughout six seasons? Looking for someone to impersonate?

My thought was just to keep them in line/from Jacob and Ben Kept summoning it.

I think Smokey wasn't just looking for some one to impersonate. I think he was looking for someone that could lead. I think he was trying to kill Locke at the end of Season 1, & impersonate him. Locke had developed a strong trust with some of the people. So he could have influenced them.

I am sure there are occassions that Smoke tried to kill Jack as well. But once again he failed.

I figured that he tried to kill Locke in the Season 1 finale so that he could go ahead and execute his plan. It was pretty cool to see how the monster wasn't so big at times, but when it was angry or about to kill (Eko, The Shape of Things to Come) it was gigantic.

Alright, I'll stop the spoiler tabs. Just a warning of spoilers for anyone who hasn't gone through the series yet:

Smokey was looking to get someone to kill Jacob. He was looking for someone he could manipulate. Locke was a prime candidate. I think Eko was one of his options, but saw Eko was unrepentant and defiant. So he killed him. Which leads me to believe either Eko was not one of Jacob's candidates or at some point (maybe in that moment) Eko was no longer a candidate, because Smokey was not allowed to kill the candidates.

Though I think Smokey/MIB tried to trick some of the candidates, like Jack chasing his father and almost falling off a cliff or "Dave" trying to get Hurley to jump off a cliff so he can "wake up" from his delusion.

Hey, if MIB/Smokey was trying to use cliffs, kinda ironic how he went out.

I don't think Ben was ever actually able to summon it, Smokey was just making him think that he had some control over it. The device Ben used may have at one time been used to summon the black smoke, but I think that was before Jacob threw his brother into the Source and the Man in Black became the monster.

Yes after the Incident. When all that magnetism stuff caused every woman pregnant on the island to die...which is the reason Juliet was brought in. So for Aaron to be the first to be born in years...I thought something special was with the kid. But I guess not:csad:

The smoke monster can't kill candidates. I guess he was only going around scaring the candidates to get them to leave and killing off all the people that weren't candidates.

He could kill Locke. Because Locke was okay with getting sucked into the hole. He gave up his free will.

Same with Jack & the water. If he had fallen off the cliff then it would have been because he wasn't watching where he was going.

Hurley would have willingly jumped off the cliff.

I wonder if there was other instances. The more I think about it. Every season there was some one that Smokey seemed to try & kill. One of the canidates.

While I agree with you about the other instances, not sure about Locke. Now this is discounting the fact that the writers might not have had all the rules in place by that episode, but I think MIB still could not kill the candidates. What was he going to do with Locke? Not sure. Perhaps the same thing that happened to Rousseau's crew? Not sure if we every got an answer to what happened to them.

But then again, your interpretation could be valid.
