Where's the discussion for this game? It came out yesterday, who's got it? How is the live multiplayer? Did anyone get the premium edition with the bonus mulitplayer map?

I played it for a while at my friend's house, but not much to really assess the game. But judging from the reviews, it's a slightly less than average game, a mediocre outing with numerous flaws and gameplay issues. I expected as much, but I'm still going to play it more eventually. But it's hardly the answer to Nintendo's Metroid Prime series as was expected. Not even close.

Weren't you supposed to stop trolling the 360 already?

Don't know which reviews you've been reading. From what I've read it's pretty good. Not best game of the year material, but good.
I played the demo and the multiplayer demo. It was fun. I planned on getting the game, but I don't have the money.

GameRankings lists it as averaging a 7.9, which isn't bad at all, but I'm most judging from some of the reviews I've read: even the ones that scored it 8.0 and above, hinted at repetitive gameplay with unintuitive controls that lack polish. There are also problems in level design and a general consensus that the multiplayer is lacking.

...But I'm still willing to give the game a chance. I also have to be honest, though, I'm incredibly put-off by the linear level-design and gameplay of this game. And unfortunately, I think these are problems that plague most Xbox 360 games... I guess this is why I'm considered a troll.

No, it's when you say that Sony and Microsoft should stop making games and that Nintendo is perfect and sublime.

Guess I'm the only one that can enjoy Lost Planet AND Twilight Princess.

nintendo is far from perfect. with a huge lack of diverse games for its library. thats why there known for thier kiddiness.

And this makes the first time I've ever heard the game compared to Metroid Prime.

Lost Planet was never in competition with MP. Never.

am i the only one who sees problems with the numbers games are getting lately? i mean, the reviews are all fine and good and that's there own opinion and whatever, but you read a review with issues with everything from the controls to the camera to the story to the frustrating time it takes your guy to get off the ground, lacking levels, funky game mechanics, etc...

then they give the game an 8?

read a few of the reviews for this game, then tell me it sounds like an 8 game. it seems like reviewers are giving out the numbers based on something else (hype, maybe?) beause the words that they type kind of don't match up with the scores.

I'm still not sure whether or not I want to get this game. I played the demo and liked it, but I would propably be buying it just for the Live play and I haven't heard much about it.

Well... I love the game. The storyline is obviously lacking something and is just bad. But the gameplay and the visuals are great. I also love the online play.

I've noticed that as well. It goes both ways. They have minor complaints about a game, and give it a 7. They have pretty significant ones and give it an 8 or 9.

I played the demo. Personally, I wasn't that enticed from it. It looks fun but I would think the novelty would wear off soon.

A good, slightly better than average game. This is what I have been saying from the beginning. I bet that one guy regrets buying this over Rainbow Six.

yup... i've put 6 or 7 hours into this game, and, so far, it is not an 8 at all... maybe a 7, at best... 6.5 from what i can see right now.

i just don't see how these guys can give these games such high scores... like gears of war: the gameplay is top-notch all around... but the story is totally lacking.... so, that equals a 9/10 game? um... so what if gears' story was flat-out awesome... does that make it an 11? 12?

i just don't get their rating system.

I can understand when the gameplay is as good as Gears, then it kind of makes up for the story lacking. The story is never really the center of the kind of GoW is anyways so it isn't judged as critically as if it were in, say, an RPG.

i see what you're saying, but... what happens when an awesome RPG comes along with gameplay equal to gears, but with a better story?

Its tough to call that. Awesome gameplay in an RPG is usually different than awesome gameplay in a game like Gears. Basically Gears of War gets 9s or 10s basically because there has been nothing like it before in a lot of categories and it delivers in each one of them very well. Having a ho hum story isn't too big a deal when a the game's main attraction doesn't depend on how good the story is.

I have both games... and Lost Planet is much better.

You're in the minority, just like Mexicans, blacks, etc. Its the same thing.
