But I thought he always was?
It was announced he was developing it, but that's different from being showrunner. He also co-created The Flash, but was never showrunner. This is a first for him, so it wasn't necessarily a safe assumption.

so Godzilla is gonna take on 3 villains in one film

how can they develop his arc in such a short amount of time?

how can they develop the arcs for all 3 villains? how can they make them sympathetic villains? how many jokes can they crack?

=P

They should have made solo movies for Rodan, Mothra and King Gidorah first. :o

CBM soundtracks featuring pop acts sort of took us by a blindside, didn't it? I feel like it's the early 2000s again. It kind of disappeared around the time of the first IM and BB.

It's a welcome return. I guess the use of popular music in the Guardians movies probably helped revive interest in the practice.

Aside from Pitbull. Bald car salesman has always been garbage.

That's a good thing in my book. :word:

I don't know man, that part when he figures out the detective is actually a dude and the following montage of vomiting and stupidness 'cause he kissed him just made me cringe so bad my face hurt.

Yo Cavvy false mouth baby, it's fish-hunk, y'all stillllll innnnnn orrrrr waaaaahaaaat mannnnnn'

Needs more "CHEEHUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!" :)

Guys, Aquaman....Jesus....the things this movie did to my body.... :hmr: :hmr:

For the longest time I felt that Snyder was the only one who could perfectly translate comic book imagery to live action, I can happily say that he no longer stand alone!! Aquaman is through and through (particularly in the 3 act) a comic book brought to life! It's as epic as MoS, but the scope...I guess the LotR comparisons are fair, think of the "history lesson" part of JL but longer! And not made into a few second montage, but the actual whole thing!!

I'm just happy, this movie made me happy! For those concerned about the humor (that was my only concern going in), it's funnier than MoS and BvS, but nowhere near MCU, it's more like WW in tone/humor; there where only a couple (literally, a couple) of moments when I felt that the humor was unnecessary, but there was definitely no use of bathos (funnily enough, my wife felt that the movie could've done with being more serious and really embrace the darker, more intense moments, but that didn't detract at all, she loved it too) and it's just an EPIC of EPIC EPICNESS!! :ilv:

And I was SO wrong about the classic suit, Momoa looks not only majestic AF in the suit, he looks like an absolute badass!! There are several shots (again, particularly in the 3rd act), where if you were to freeze the picture, Arthur, Mera and Orm look straight like a CB panel, like something by Ivan Reis or Jim Lee or Jorge Jimenez; Momoa was born to play this part.

Actually, I couldn't think of a single thing I didn't like about it until this thread reminded me: Pitbull. It really took me off the use of pop songs (literally, 2 times), but it was like a second thing and it didn't stay, but mostly Pitbull because I hate reggaeton and **** that guy! :D

But honestly, I cannot wait to see it again, I actually wanted to rewatch it the moment it was done; as a fervent lover of every DCEU entry (minus JL and SS - partially), this movie is up there with the rest. I'm a well fed fan, I'm happy.

Glad you mentioned the classic suit, I wasn't sure about it either going in but it really was one of the highlights for me.

*feels the urgent need to go to the comic book store and buy all the Aquaman comics*

I actually put the Peter David Aquaman trades in my Xmas wishlist; I really hope my family pulls through this time instead of getting more plaid shirts and socks.... :argh:

But first...
*proceeds to check the time for Aquaman showings later today*

By the way, Mera is an absolute badass! Arthur and Mera had always been one of my favorite CB "power couples", and the translation didn't disappoint; just like in the comics, Arthur and Mera compliment each other perfectly and are portrayed as equals.
