That nostalgia crept up on me and taking my girl to see an Andre Nickatina show on friday. Her not knowing who he was, made me shake my head in shame. lol

Hour into Spiderman Far From Home and this is a steaming pile. Crazy. Peter just hanging out in a bar talking with Mysterio who is in full costume, yet he’s all about keeping his secret identity. How did this thing get such glowing reviews?????? This is terrible.

And you gotta be the most gullible person in the world (let alone a spider-man fighting crime and stuff) to hand something that important to someone you barely know albeit he is posing as an off world super hero.

I always laughed and thought these last lines were ice cold. I don't know why. lol

Andre Nickatina:

She said she love me
I make her heart freeze
Alright baby, then move these CD's

But Tom's the best Iron Man side-kick, I mean, Spider-Man! :o

to all those going to see Joker tomorrow and this weekend, I’m looking forward to hearing all your thoughts

Gugu has been passed over on a number of occasions so she's my choice too.

*Imagines writing a letter of incessant whining full of repeated phrases about race bending characters in adaptions since 1989 because that's been done a lot and not for any substantial critical reason, just because I'm personally tired of it*

Don't mock me mates, I want needless authenticity and I don't care that Billy Dee Williams in his short appearance was better than Tommy Lee Jones in a movie where he was a central player playing the same character.

I've always maintained that complaining about racebending is perfectly fine depending on how fans choose to go on about it. For example looking at those casting choices(provided they're legit) I can see how the notion of having colorblind casting whose only purpose is to choose the best person for the job kind of goes out the window since all the ladies are representatives of a specific group. If WB wants to make sure the racebended character is a representative of a particular group, that in itself is not looking for the best actor across the board. Which I think is especially noticeable given the Selina Kyle character is of Cuban descent in the current continuity, basically meaning they would erase one minority representation for the sake of another. I think acknowledging that is an observation, rather than whining about it. Being able to see what the studios are doing isn't the same thing as being an obnoxious prat who doesn't want to see people of color in prominent roles.

This bit was quite dumb TBH.

the biggest reason why i don't like racebending is that it basically limits the possibility of seeing original characters of color. hiring a black actor for Canary means we will not see Vixen for awhile.

Honestly do you think we would've ever saw a Vixen movie? Now for Superman I would love it if they did Calvin Ellis or Val-Zod although I doubt we'll see it.

solo movie? no.
we could've seen her in one of BOP movies for diversity sake. but now? it's highly unlikely.

These characters are incredibly pliable, they have been reinvented dozens of times in a myriad of ways. Remember when main cannon Superman was made of lightning?

The things that make these characters so meaningful isn't their race or gender or sexual orientation.

There are much more important things to argue about, like whether there's is a yellow oval behind the bat, or whether there's red underwear over their trousers

Superman Blue was not a bad as people make it out to be and if you read how he was written in JLA it makes him even better. The only problem I can say with Superman Blue is that it happened to Superman and that's why it wasn't given a chance and gets the hate it does. However if this happened to Conner and they explained it as what happens when you mix a Kryptonian and a human people would've been more understanding.

That doesn't really follow. I mean Marvel racebent Valkyrie and then the very next year introduced a bunch of new black characters from the comics in Black Panther. And Aquaman being racebent didn't preclude Black Manta from being in the movie either.

It's not a case of either or.

As I have always said I think you could make Superman (Clark Kent), Batman (Bruce Wayne), James Bond and other heroes black or cast black actors as them if you wanted too. It's just I think would not accept it really.

Black Panther is rare exception and Momoa is not black.
and Hollywood still has this weird "one black actor per team" rule, like Will Smith is out and Idris Elba is in. not always but most of the times it's like that.
i'd love to think it's not a case of either or but i just don't think it's quite there yet.

It isn't really an exception though. There have been racebent characters in a bunch of different superhero movies now and it has not stopped actual characters of color from being introduced. Even in the case of Will Smith, you still had Amanda Waller and Killer Croc in the same film.

Wow Joker is taking a beating on Rotten Tomatoes and the score is sinking. What the Heck is going on all of a sudden? I thought these people were singing its praises for award considerations etc?
