Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Kinda feels like WB is hedging their bets with BoP and keeping the marketing budget very conservative. Feel like its gonna be a mixed divisive film.

accurate!

brehs. Christian bale in thor 4.? marvel have 4 pretty great sounding movies for that year.
Heres to getting some great DC news this week to bring the balance.

It won't be, but if they got him to play Nighthawk, I'd lose my mind.

Never in a million years would I imagine Bale coming back to the genre. Much less to the MCU. Even less to Taika's Thor.

2020 is starting off wild.

Marvel just took two of our Batman's.

People said Shazam's marketing was poor. Yet, it wasn't a "mixed divisive" movie.

Well Shazam was a new thing, and off the a super bad Justice League and a hero that's basically Superman-lite, I can see why they wanted to play it real safe and not blow their load on marketing. With BoP, it also came after a super divisive SS, and thought it overachieved, the lack of Will Smith and 90% of that cast before is a big risk to go big on the marketing on this as well.

Holy s*** i had no idea Lion King made well over 1.6 billion. Thats more than Avengers and Furious 7. For a movie thats made so much money i feel like it just came and went and nobody talked about it. Especially after the likewarm reception.

Shazam was an excellent movie, but they released it at the worst possible time between two huge hit Marvel flicks that sucked up most of the hype and oxygen. Adding to the problem was that Shazam isn't a well known character, and unlike Marvel, I don't really think DC is in the position yet where they can sell people on an unknown property on their brand alone. In fact, I'm almost certain that's why all the BOP marketing has focused so heavily on Harley Quinn, who is a known, popular character played by a popular actress.

and they refused to market the darker/horror aspects of the film, as well as focus marketing on the family/kids adventure, it was as if it was a dumb teenage comedy between Freddy and Shazam.

They put the sequel in the April spot again in 2022, not sure what other films are coming out, the first one would have been a perfect Christmas movie though

Why you bastahs acting like this is a sports team? :D: If anything, it only highlights where the cbm genre stands at this point in the industry. Bale and Phoenix taking on these roles. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Dicaprio ends up in one of these flicks. I hated both Thor flicks, but enjoyed the hell out of Ragnarok. Taika is just awesome. It also feels like WB dropped the ball by getting cold feet with his version of Akira.

i'm interested to see what role bale is in and what he does with it.

going by ragnorok, i'm assuming it's going to be comedic.
when's the last time bale did a comedy role beside american psycho?

who gives a sh** if the movie is by marvel or dc as long as its good.

I think by the time another Supe films gets going, it be easier to get Leo. He'd be at that Jack Nicholson age by then where he doesn't have to prove anything to himself or the film world, a legit legend. Probably another 20 something model by his side, good time to pitch him Supes and offer him the role of Lex.

Prime Monica Bellucci v Prime Salma Hayek?

Now that is a goddamn civil war. That be worth locking feige in the trunk of my car for.

Vida Guerra shows up at the last minute in her spidey cameo. Tis' it. Tis' it.
