Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I’ll be relieved if we never get anything like Apokolips War on the big screen. I guess it kinda worked for the animated movies and I say this as someone who was never really emotionally invested in this new 52 animated universe they’ve been doing, but I have no interest in seeing a lot of what was in it in live action.

Not sure if I want to see a live-action version of Hal Jordan being the only JL founding member to die like a punk with no dialogue in a flashback cameo scene. It's obvious what the people who made those movies thought of this character since Justice League: War. He was just meme material for them.

Sorry, it's just that the original Darkseid War was a great story, while this was basically an R-rated version of the movie that started this animated universe in the first place.

I saw it more as Zack Snyder's original plans for JL only switch Superman & Batman's roles. Where Batman's role for Snyder's movie was split between Superman and Damion. But for the most part it seems very close to what he planned.

Might have to check out Apokolips War to see what all the hubbub is about.

Random thought of the day: I was watching Bloodsport (which is such a f***ing fun movie) and it got me sad that Canon Films never made their Spider-man movie.

Before you ban me from the Hype, hear me out. I feel like it would have been fascinatingly bad film to watch in retrospect. One that we’d be talking about and revisiting today. It probably would have been low low budget, had laughable web swinging/crawling sequences, a cool synth score and probably had Michael Dudikoff playing Peter Parker/Spidey. It wouldve been a schlocky, campy classic comic catastrophe to watch.

Declaring wanting a bad movie that will never be is ban worthy?

bloodsport is a van damme classic.
it's like live action street fighter before street fighter was a thing.

it also makes me wish we got to see bruce lee fight bolo in enter the dragon.
van damme vs bolo is the closest we will ever come to that.

bolo was a beast!

and did u know he escaped mainland china by swimming from there over to hong kong?
i imagine he probably clobbered some guards before jumping into the waters lol

Thats what i love about Bloodsport, they got authentic martial artists and fighters. On a Canon Films budget I’m shocked they were able to bring that level of authenticity to the movie. And the fighting itself is filmed well.

Please don’t post major spoilers (like character deaths!) without spoiler tags for a movie that just came out TODAY.

Kingdom Come is one to revisit. Got go re-read it soon. When Alex Ross draws and inks, they could just release a picture book with no words and it will be phenomenal.

It's kind of strange on how we have yet to get a Kingdom Come adaptation from DC Animation.

Apokolips War was wild man. Really enjoyed it. Boy i wasnt quite expecting to be...so damn R Rated haha

I want to wait until it's at rental price. Or maybe I'll sub to dc online when it shows up on that and then cancel again.

Having seen Red Son last month, I'm not sure I have faith that it would be handled well.

The only way I can see it done reasonably well is if it's a 2 parter. I don't want just the highlights without the nuance like we got with Red Son.
