Lounge of Justice - Part 90

At this point I've just given up on The Flash actually happening, lol.

I don't get the over-reaction to his, do people not know that FB3 was delayed filming until this news come out? The IT director probably only started developing the film yesterday, still needing to do the script, pre-production before filming, so filming around this time next is reasonable, and surely Ezra's finished on set for FB3 by then, so I don't know why here it's like Flash is dead due to this FB scheduling???

Here's what he actually said

Sites and certain Marvelites bloggers continue to grasp straw to drag DC with them, and at the same time bash Scorsese, lol.

Nothing wrong when someone great dislikes your films and is friendly and praising the other brand.

The problem is some of Marvel's fans just can't handle it when you don't like their movies and when that happens they become very vocal and loud about it.

I was guilty of it before haha but I grew up (at least I hope I did), especially every film you like for a few years get bashed every where. They have a decade of dominance and great RT (lol) and box office etc, their brand is influencing everything right now, IDK why they get so upset when a little old man criticize them and have to retaliate daily lol. Look at that Iron Man director, he got played by Feige and co yet he stuck around for the success, made a few quality films, and is level-headed enough to respect little old men's opinions.

From my experience (been here 17 years now)....some fans of BOTH companies can't handle it when someone doesn't like their brand, and become very vocal about it.
Agreed I just said them because they are the new flavor of the month right now and they a very vocal and sensitive about people not liking them much like people with Snyder or Nolan. However they're not as vocal at the moment unless it's about the Snyder Cut.

Having been involved in fandoms for the past 6 years I can sincerely say the idea that DC's fandom does not get as crazy as the Marvel zealots is a godd*mned lie, lmao. Even on this very thread over the years, we've had some people border on basket case status over these movies.

Some people put way too much of their fandom into their personal identity and then get upset when they view it as under attack. There was that Youtube vide on tribalism in fandom that was explicitly about some of the more insane elements of the DCEU stuff, but it really applies to all these big franchises.

Someone saying a movie you like is bad isn't a personal attack on you, but way too many people view it as such. And thus we end up with absurd sh*t like the Scorsese drama or "Disney paid the critics to bash Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad!"

Which is just funny because a lot of the DC fans who praise Scorsese for saying he doesn't like Marvel would be frothing at the mouth and screaming if he had said the same thing about the DCEU, just as many of the Marvel cats who took joy in laughing at the negative responses to BVS and Suicide Squad probably would've had similar meltdowns if it'd been an Avengers movie that had gone over that badly.

In short:

I hope I am not one of these people now, but if Scorsese said DC is theme parks and praised Antman saying he doesn't think it's a superhero film but even if it is, meh, it's ok if you know what I mean bro....I'd be like

giphy.gif

and I'll be thinking "F The Departed it's BS, Shuter Island is BS" in my head for a couple of second, then I'll realize how stupid that sound, and move on and enjoy Jumanji 2 then thinking oh did Jack Black bash CBM with Ra's in 2014 and I just found it funny and moved on and enjoy their latest works anyway?

Then I'll log on twitter and see the comment section of Marty's account (let's pretend he has one) flooded with "support the SC b****" and headlines with "Scorsese thinks Antman is theme park too"

I am just making stuff up now like a certain blockbuster pop cultural character, been reading too much dissections that I can't tell what's real and what's fake now hehe =P

departed is a good movie, but was inferior to the original infernal affairs.
did you see part 2 and part 3 of those? they are great. esp part 2.

the only thing i liked more in departed was leonardo decaprio as the lead compared to tony leung (blasphemy, i know!)

I'm still in awe the Mouse finally got him to do a U.S. blockbuster. Hollywood had been trying to court Tony for years.

they really want that china money. lol

I haven't seen any of the HK versions hahaha, all I saw was a bunch of university wannabes dressed up as Matrix people pointing guns at each other with tension.

I almost spilled my drink reading he signed on, it peaked my interest but I have serious fear that he'll end up with crappy lines and be one of the forgettable popcore villains, i.e. Jet Li in The Mummy

it was early 2000s hk, everyone liked to dress in all black to look cool.

infernal trilogy is the bomb. part 3 is the weakest, but still decent.

i am hoping tony will be a badass mandarin.
i hope it will make me forget bout fake mandarins ben kingsley and guy pierce (they're good actors but i didnt like them as the "mandarin" in im3)

tony's made some pro-china gov't comments back in the day.
he knows which side his bread is buttered on.
that's the reality of the world we livin in.

Maybe he'll be revealed as another actor, named Tony Leung Stark, and he's undercover as Mandarin to acquire alien weapons to become the new Iron Man (the new armour will have 5 yellow stars on the helmet) and he helps Shang Chi to turn the HK rioters to peace with their love and patriotism, before thanking the live action Winnie the Pooh for giving him the opportunity to be a hero.

1 Billion in China locked, 60 theme parks to be built in the next 12 months (they're speedy) one in each province, 5 in HK, should keep them busy for the next 30 years

Tony can be the Iron Mandarin.

Just thinking about the name, that's quite some racist name isn't it? Lol, a Chinese villain called Mandarin, it's like a Netherlands villain called Dutch. Anyway, there were no outrage when a Chinese character was played by a British Middle Easterner, or a white man upon the reveal, maybe the Chinese audience and culture just don't care, and/or maybe the higher ups just expressed their displeasure at using a Chinese villain, but Disney/Marvel/S Black didn't seem to care, neither did the SJW.

It was just RDJ's IM3 post Avengers is gonna be insane!!!

PS I was actually quite impressed initially with "the villain can be deceiving and use other code/faces, don't assume" philosophy, though both Ra's and Mandarin were actually white dudes and the cover up Asians are either drunk or dead.

as a chinese american, i personally was never really offended by the whole fu manchu thing, though i can understand why others would be.

also, "the mandarin" in this case is referring to a type of old chinese government official, not the language:

Mandarin (bureaucrat) - Wikipedia

i'm not even sure why the major chinese dialect is called mandarin in the first place.
who comes up with these names?? haha

Lol thanks, I did not know that at all, Loutea would have sounded way more formal for the character.

n the 16th century, before the term mandarin became widespread in the European languages, the word Loutea

I don't know why they came up with these s*** names, Portugeese started it based on that wiki info. Can you imagine westerners speaking pineapples?

FYI Taiwanese call westerners "high nose," and the older generation I think would call Dutch (who were here a few centuries ago) Red Hair =P maybe they found out about mandarin thus inventing these names in retaliation.

The other term would be Sweet Potatoes for foreigners, apparently not a good term, if you're racist you'd use that word against TW aboriginals. I just heard my mother in law from China (we have a similar dialect) and she called westerners sweet potatoes, lol, she's a CCP member btw, haha, though not sure if it's a common non-harmful term in their culture

PS the offical terms are still "foreigners" etc, the ones above are the less offical but commonly used words

Yes that's it! well they're from Xiamen and they kinda think they're better than Fijian who eats up all the resources and still look like a rural province lol, but they still think HKers are snobby and can't accept China are better than them, lol, mirror mirror.

Their Minnan accent is slight different and I always get confused with father in law's "are you tired" mixed up with "are you bored" so I never got to rest when I went there! (tired = tiam in TW but xian in Xiamen, xian sounds like bored/nothing to do in Taiwanese)

My mans DMX locked up again and had to spin some of his greatest hits out of respect. One of the nastiest mcs to ever spit on the mic.
