Lounge of Justice - Part 90

One black president and they lose their minds. To keep it honest with ya'll, I have no faith in the american public and political system to make the right choice, Trump will win again, unfortunately.

our political system is designed in a way where some people will vote against their own basic interests because they have a perception that they are losing their place in the social totem pole.

but that's what the ones in power want.

keep the peasants dumb and divided. so they don't revolt.

I think they said it's like a 1970s war movie.
Man. They really need to come out and set the record straight like they did Reeves Batman. Watching/reading Gunn, Margot and others trip over themselves trying to explain this movie is embarrassing

how was that movie?

i haven't watched it yet.
i do like that main actor when he acted alongside nic cage in "Joe"

I enjoyed it personally. I have only seen it once and intend on seeing it again when my schedule allows it. If anything, I feel like fans of the genre/source material would probably appreciate the film more than your average viewer.

I’ll be the first to say that I loathe talking politics in general, just because I don’t feel educated enough on most issues. But there comes a point where silence and complacency is just as worse as acts of injustice taking place in our very own streets.

I can’t even imagine how non-American hype members look at our country sometimes. Between our President’s handling of Covid as well as racial unrest, we are on a collision course with the wrong side of history. It’s important to speak up even if you don’t feel qualified to do so. Because at some point it becomes about addressing things that feel wrong and not just about “waiting to get all the facts.” We shouldn’t have to wait for the facts when our own law enforcement is putting people down like dogs just for the color of their skin. I hope we have finally reached a turning point.
As your northern neighbour, some of the stuff that happens in the States I also see it here. Earlier this week in my province, we similarly had our "pizzagate" because the logo of a coffee shop resembles with the logo of a known pedophile group...

Good thing we don't wander around with guns, because all this QAnon **** is starting to spread here and it makes me both sad and scared.

As an outsider, I always thought that if people tried to treat their fellow citizens better instead of constantly pointing fingers and blaming those with different views for all of their country's problems, it wouldn't have come to this. But it's clearly more complicated than that. I don't know man, your country has given me a lot in terms of art and entertainment but I'm honestly glad not to be living there. lol Sadly I doubt voting the orange bald man out would change anything to be honest. Someone else will simply take his place. There will always be division and unrest as long as humanity exists, I can only hope we all don't go off the deep end to the point of no coming back. Stay strong.

Are you in India? Try not to join herd immunity ya. 1-10% fatality rate depending on the local resources.
Yeah, It's best to take all precautions.

Fatality rate is slowly creeping up, currently it's between 2 and 3 %.

Because Stranger Things is popular and we need to insert kids as main characters to have a wider target demographic.

Another resident evil live action project with new characters no one cares about at the forefront, just what the people want

i just want faithful adaptation of World War Z with directors and actors from all over the world. make it happen Netflix.

lol exactly the same sentiment in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the worldwide anti-ccp Chinese community

well, from the local perspective of someone living in the bay area, california, the unfortunate side effect is there's been an increase in anti-asian attacks. because some people are dumb and can't differentiate between the ccp and asian americans. lol.
and they don't care too.

just for a taste of the reality on the ground here:
- a few weeks ago a vietnamese resident here was jogging in the evening at a park near my home.
three guys waiving a trump flag were there and started yelling at the guy.
called him a chink, told him to go back to china and threatened to shoot him.
fortunately, he was able to get away and make a police report but it's left him shaken.

this kind of thing really never happened here in my city before - it's a diverse populace here where i live.

now i worry for the safety of my family. not just with covid.

the man in charge now certainly didn't invent racism -- but he's damn sure weaponized it for his own political gain.
and as @Comicbookguy339 has said - he ain't beefin with china for the right reasons. i mean, dood did ask president xi to help him with his re-election before. lol

Wait, actual kids?

I thought that was just a playful term, you know, like the Winchester Boys who are not actually boys. Sigh.

i always wished they made the movie to be a documentary like how the book was a series of interviews.

That's just my initial assumption. They'll either be kids or teenagers.

That's the thing. Calling Covid "the China virus" is all about racism. Trump's supporters see an Asian-American (or any Asian) and go off. In March some dude in Texas stabbed an entire family, including a 6-year-old and a 2-year-old because he thought they were Chinese. It's just too much. EVEN IF CCP created the novel coronavirus (and there is currently no evidence to suggest that they did), the Chinese people are not to blame. Racism won't go away with Trump but under him it will only get worse.
