Lounge of Justice - Part 90

PR team where is your grace exit strategy

. I low key trashed Banks for her dumb comments and the tweet is getting lots of traction, enough for me to worry she sees it and goddamn half my twitter are Oscar Isaac thirst tweets or pics of me with braids like Rose the Hat so that is... unfortunate content lol

I cant post the tweet because swearing but my point was people wont see it not because of gender but because of truly horrible marketing

And Momoa before Isaac, and Punisher before that, and Keanu Reeves...lol

That's pretty much consistent with that other interview he'd given where he said he wished he'd gotten to do a Superman sequel where he could play a more traditional version of the character before they immediately went into all the crossover stuff.

The Lion King (2019)

You already know that this movie is a 1:1 of the 1994 movie with minor altercations that include reduction of color and removal of visible emotions on animals, but is it really all there is that is wrong in this movie? I'll see for sure.

I'll just list what this photo realistic animated movie did better and what this movie did worse than the old cartoon, and I'm confident the latter outweighs the former 6:1
Worse:
  • Remember that mouse Scar catches in the old movie? We spend 70 seconds with him before we see Scar, and more time is wasted with the cat trying to catch the mouse.
  • John Oliver is not a good successor to Rowan Atkinson.
  • Hans Zimmer's score sounds better in the original. It's nice here though.
  • Pouncing lesson came here for no reason, and Zazu had no warning to make it amusing or fair.
  • The dialogue and delivery of Scar here are nowhere near as playful or fun as old Scar. I'll blame Chitewel Eijofor for not being a fan of being playful and hamming it up like Jeremy Irons does.
  • Visuals don't help the songs at all. I might just shoot video of cats running in grass and play the 'Can't Wait to be King' song on it and you wouldn't feel the difference.
  • John Oliver can't sing, he's not even trying.
  • The hyenas the story focus on here aren't the three amigos y amiga here, I don't want to see two afraid of one after being indulged by three funny characters for years.
  • 'Like father, like son' speech Zazu gave to Mufasa is blah.
  • There are more scenes that are needlessly stretched for no good reason. Why do we have to look at a crap beetle rolling a ball of excrement to see Rafiki hold Simba's mane hair?
  • Why are Scar and hyenas not friends from the start here?
  • Rafiki is less fun.
  • Timon and Pumbaa are less fun.

Better:
  • In the old movie Zazu suggested making a rug out of Scar and Mufasa laughed at it. Here, Mufasa refuses to expel his brother from the Pride's Land as Zazu suggested.
  • That moment with Scar telling Sarabi about the hunt and how Scar basically tells the ladies to deal with eating leftovers from hyenas.
  • Nala is smarter here than she is in the old movie.
At certain points, Mufasa sounded more like Ian McShane than James Earl Jones. I kinda wish they chose McShane for the role now.

Consona with no other exit from the streets, decides to become a gigolo. His tiny short drug addicted italian pimp (Michelo) is nice to him, but he sometimes yells profanities in the middle of the night, he often falls asleep in Consona's arms.

Michelo: Ah, ok, our next client was a former movie star in the 60s.
Consona: Really?! Who?
Michelo: Honor Blackman.
Consona: Let me look her up....Damn...She is 94 years old, man!
Michelo: She is still better than the previous one.
Consona: I don't think I can do this.
MIchelo: She was in Goldfinger!
Consona: Yeah, but she seems closer on the other side than the living.
MIchelo: Relax, friend, just watch Goldfinger before your date. Think of her as she was.

Consona: She was 36 in Goldfinger? Man, she was hot. Still older then me today. Of course I wasn't even born when Goldfinger was made.
Michelo: Take a shot of hotsauce and that should get you through.
Consona: but..
Michelo: She already wired the cash and I give no refunds, now quit your stalling and make sweet, sweet love to Miss Galore.

Consona with a tear on his cheek gets ready as he watched himself in the mirror. A white cowboy hat and a coat with no shirt completes his outfit. He takes one last look in the mirror as he ponders the silence in the room and walks towards the abyss.

Fade to black/

Don't you worry baby
No sense tryin' to change it
I'ma strike these matches
Never had control
I'm ready to let go
Was I fooling myself
I'ma spread these ashes
Never had control
I'm ready, I'm ready
I'm ready to let go

This one was great. Thx BN. :yay:

Have a present for you, actually... while stumbling upon it you were the first thing that popped in my mind. Dunno if that should be worrisome or not surprising at all. :funny:

Hi.gif

Have a very good and pleasant rest.

I wonder if idiot09 will return to share his input as well.
Thank you. Night was ok, today was kinda rough, wounds are still pretty fresh... Eh. Let's completely change the subject. Like...

Who else was or is still missing? @idiot09 is back, Heya :applaud, @WoodyROM a couple of years? :wow: Are you sure about that?

i always felt a MOS sequel was the better way to go first too.
have brainiac be the villian.
maybe a safer approach that BvS...but it would've better established the characters and the world.
before rushing into things.
but alas, WB is impatient like that.
money money.

If I remember correctly, I think some sketches were shown and they were going to go with Metallo originally. At least how I saw it in my head canon, Metallo was a product of Lex Luthor's work on Wallace Keefe, severely injured from the battle in Metropolis.

That is correct.

Even now, Brainiac is sitting right there, WB. Ready to bring you money.
