I wonder if this indicates that WB could have no plans for another Superman movie at the moment.
that's what i feel too.
bummer if so.

That’s not the Supergirl team. No one from the actual writing staff of Supergirl is mentioned. Todd Helbing, the guy developing it, is from the Flash team. In fact, I’ve always considered him the best of the Flash writing staff, as he and his brother wrote the best episodes of S1 (“The Man in the Yellow Suit,” “Out of Time”) that made me like the show in the first place. So if anyone from the Berlanti crew had to be writing this, I’m so glad it’s him.As I said in the other thread I am not thrilled about this mainly because I just don't trust Superman in the hands of the Supergirl team.

Because I have no desire to see a team Superman.Other than the complaints about Superman being nerfed in favor of Supergirl...why?

Agreed but once again I just dont trust the CW with Superman. I feel this would've been better served if they put it on the DC app or HBO Max. Because to truly make this show work you would almost have to rewrite the whole history of the Supergirl show. I mean it should be Superman, not Supergirl who inspires the Legion. If they do become one earth after COIE then it should be Superman not Supergirl who inspires everyone and who the Flash and Arrow first worked with. The problem with doing this and the way they written Superman and establishes him already Supergirl comes off looking more like Superman than he does and that is a big problem for me.Oh, but...Dean Cain could be on it. Dean Cain!
If the team is Superman, Lois and Jon Kent, that dynamic has worked pretty well in the more recent comics.
I won't deny the cheese will be there, but they've already established that this is family man Supes who's married with a kid, so I think we're at least safe from the love triangle, will they/won't they nonsense. If they wanna do GL and BB etc I hope these go to HBO like Watchmen since CW has enough on its plate now, I was hoping Superman can be on HBO as well but they've already set it up with Supergirl....not into CW and cheese these days unless they repeat a Flash S1, but cheese and love triangle/will they won't they will still be there with CW...

Eh, Supes has always fared better on TV than in movies, imo, and they've already got the best Flash writer who made S1 great as the one who's developing it, so I'm not too worried about any of that. CW sucks at romance, but their biggest strength is probably family dynamics (particularly in Black Lightning, Flash and Supergirl), and that's what will be at the heart of this show, so it should be playing to their strengths out of the gate.I would like to think positive but in the films they had Superman stalking Lois who's married to Cyclops and it seemed like Cyclops loses again even though he legally married the girl this time, and when it comes to CW all bets are off as you had Felicity just banging Ray and Oliver in quick succession because she was stressed out or something and Ray got dumped like a waste (maybe Cyclops' fan wrote it =P).
I could totally see in S2 or 3 Clarke meets Lana and temptation sets in, and Lois is lonely due to Clarke saving the world all day and some handsome CW dude comes in and tries to seduce her, and she does the right thing at the end, after 12 episodes =P
The only ones that I would like to see that didn't come off was Grant Gustin and Danielle Panabacker those two have some serious chemistry Danielle should have been cast as Iris instead (I think Iris is much less annoying now but wife still hates her from the first few seasons lol)
Also this lends some credence to that rumor about WB planning Blue Beetle and Green Lantern stuff for streaming, since this was one of the projects listed in the same post.
How do you do Green Lantern on TV, whether it's HBO Max or not. I doubt the would invest 30M per an episode, so what is this going to be about even if it only takes place on Earth. Kyle making a few halfway decent constructs against some bank robbers and then spending the rest of the episode in a love triangle with Jade and Donna?
I’m down for Superman & Lois and I like the how the premise seems to focus on them being parents! Thats a fresh take on Supes imo. My only two trepidations are:
1) Fix the damn suit. Its ugly. Get rid of it. Give him a classic Superman look. Its not that hard.
2) i do not want this to follow the Arrowverse formula of Superman working with a team of quirky, snarky tech support people who are feeding Supes info via com link while he’s fighting Braniac. He’s Superman, he doesnt fight on a team (uh, unless its the Justice League). Focus on Superman just being SUPERMAN.
If they fix these things i’m all in.

What if there's a team of quirky, snarky tech people who are feeding him info via superhearing?

Might as well considering how obvious it’s been that the movie people have zero plans for the character anytime soonFinally happened.
