Lounge of Justice - Part 90

No, we don't.
"No we don't" what? Have to get through 2020 for the decade to be over? Yes we do. The calendar didn't start on Year 0, it started on year 1. Once 2020 is over and we're going into 2021, the decade will be over.

So the year 1990 was in the 80's then? Cool.

lol, no, I'm saying you would have to get done with 1990 for the decade to be over. This is so easy to grasp.

Again, the calendar starts on Year 1, not Year 0. A full decade is 10 years. If we look at Year 1-10, you had to get through the 10th year for the decade to be over with. If it was New Years eve on Year 9, going into Year 10, it wouldn't be a full decade, as you only went through 9 full years. After you finish Year 10, a full decade would cycle.

Think of it like a tv show that has a season with 10 episodes. If you watch the first 9 episodes, and are going into the 10th episodes, but haven't watched ep10 yet, you haven't watched the full season, as you have to get through the 10th episode to finish it.

2020 is the finale episode of the season/decade, and we haven't gone through it yet. We will once we get to 2021, as 2020 will be "the finale". Once 2020 is done, the decade will be over. If we stared on Year 0, then yes, the decade would be done, but that's not how the calendar works. The decade isn't done yet. Again, 2020 is basically the finale episode that we haven't watched yet. We have to get through the year, the same way you have to watch the 10th episode to finish the season.

All true.

Although people can still say their goodbyes to non-calendar year decades. Like when I get to 50 I'll be saying goodbye to that last decade regardless of calendar year, and the named decades like the 70s and 80s start and end earlier than a calendar year decade (0-9 rather than 1-10). Goodbye to the teens @kguillou and welcome to the 20s lol.:D:

I am happy I'm seeing so many people do a complete 180 on their opinion of Henry Cavill's acting after seeing The Witcher (and also saying I told them they should have watched Man from U.N.C.L.E.).

Just give the dude his Superman sequel. He can still give the best performance of his career in the cape and he was a fan favorite in MI:FO and now Witcher. He can round the corner in the Superman role. Audiences shown they can 180 on things. Just look at Routh. Henry can provide the same results on the bigscreen.

Agreed

Even if you are technically correct (both ways are) most people's definition of a decade is 0-9.

The definition of a decade in a dictionary is;
A 10-year period beginning with a year ending in 0.

Finished watching First Blood the second time in my entire life. What should I watch next:
  1. Terminator
  2. Alien
  3. Rambo: First Blood part 2
Before watching one of these movies I will finally watch the remake of Disney's Aladdin.

Tough choice. Absolutely cannot go wrong with Terminator or Alien (directors cut). ;)

Anybody claiming that a decade is the years 0-9 is 100% wrong. There is no zero year(Year zero) in a Gregorian calendar. We start on Year 1. Unless you’re on some weird celestial calendar system that we’re not using, I don’t know what to tell you.

There is no interpretation here. You’re either right or wrong. So I’m not “technically correct”, I’m just correct. It’s like trying to tell me there’s a zero hour on the clock. There isn’t.

Oof, I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree. Henry was so bad in The Witcher to me that it's killed any faith I had in him to give me a good Supes. I'm beyond over him now. Time for some new blood. Supes deserves someone with more warmth, charisma and basic talent, imo.

He’s been liked by everyone I’ve seen talk about his performance in the Witcher. Even critics that didn’t like the show seemed to have liked Cavill, or at least the ones I’ve read. I personally thought he was great in it. And he’s great in MI as well.

A decade is simply a period of 10 years. The start date is arbitrary. Neither of you is incorrect.
