Lounge of Justice - Part 90

More experienced how? They are both the same age. Kravitz has been getting roles since 2007 whereas Vikander didn't start properly until 2010 (short film roles until then). I'm not an expert, but a simple Google search shows this.

Several actresses screen tested with Pattinson in early October and Reeves chose her. She's obviously doing something right.

What is "didn't start properly" supposed to mean, there are many actors who start out doing short films or theatre to help get noticed by movie producers. If anything, that seems to be the way struggling actors pay their dues before making it to the big time, that's how Snyder discovered Ray Fisher before he cast him as Cyborg, doesn't mean he "did not start properly" until BvS.
Either way, Vikander has been an actress longer than Kravitz has. Reeves choosing to cast Kravitz as Catwoman has nothing to do with Vikander's resume being more impressive. Which is saying something, given that Kravitz must have had a comparatively easier way to get her foot in the door in the entertainment industry, while Vikander did not have the same privilege.

I obviously meant in terms of bigger roles earlier on, stop being obtuse.

Vikander's mother is an actress, so what's that about about being easier to get a foot in?

Her mother's a Swedish stage actress, Kravitz's dad has been a music icon in US pop culture for decades. Let's just not go there please.

Of course, everything always boils down to color in the end. Even though she had the more privileged background, it doesn't matter because she's a woman of color... I never said Zoe Kravitz did not deserve the role by the way, so I'm not sure where that's coming from.

Vikander literally grew up with the Skarsgard family so I don't think it was that hard to get her foot in the door either...

And Naomi Watts has been friends with Nicole Kidman since they were teens, does that mean Kidman is the reason Watts was nominated for an Oscar twice. I just found it strange for people to suggest that the journey of a foreign actress who came from nothing and the journey of an actress who came from a place of privilege balance out just because of Hollywood's bad history with representation. To each their own.

You know y'all can request an Infraction Review from myself or @Spider-Fan and see about getting one or two of those old ones reversed if you're interested in sticking around a while longer. ;)
Not only do I want mine reversed because they’re incredibly old, but where can you see them? Ever since the forum change, I haven’t seen them. They used to be on your profile on the old layout.

This whole conversation is amusing since nepotism has literally always been a thing in Hollywood. That doesn't mean someone can't be talented for right for the part despite having a leg up.

Jamie Lee Curtis recently got mad respect from me when she flat out said of course her early career benefitted from her having famous parents.

Not more amusing than the fact that you always keep chiming in the conversations of people you previously blocked for supposedly not caring for what they have to say, yet here you are, still doing that all the time so long after the fact. I don't recall saying Kravitz's background suggested she wasn't talented enough to play this role, but keep putting words in my mouth since you can read my posts without conveniently having to respond to them. You of all people talking about being amused is funny enough on its own.

My comments were in response to Greenlite actually. Women of color have it harder in Hollywood though. That’s just a fact. Her having privilege just evens the playing field.

Kravitz's color had nothing to do with anything that was being discussed. Vikander was a struggling actress who came from nothing, Kravitz was a wealthy girl who could choose to be anything she wanted. That's where the latter's privilege is coming from, has nothing to do with "evening the playfield" when race played no factor in how either of them got to where they are now.

Eh, I already explained myself clearly. Not gonna have a pissing contest over two people I don’t know. They both have successful careers. Don’t see any point in arguing.

Speaking of pointless things, can I ask you something. I always enjoyed talking to you whether we disagreed or not, because I find that you always have something interesting to say. Let's say that for whatever reason, I got fed up with something and decided to block you, but afterwards, I kept seeing your quoted posts and chiming in your discussions, purposely excluding you from your own conversations while I basically kept taunting you and trolling you, or tried to amuse myself at your expense. What would you do if you were in a position like that.

As have I man. I’m just on my way home after a long day with a sick gf so my apologies for any shortness.

As far as your question, I was in the situation you described some years ago with a now banned poster named ISS. What I realized is that there’s nothing I could really do about it. The ignore function is specific to users not conversations. However, it does work both ways. I chose not to ignore ISS myself because I felt she was at the center of most discussions I took part in anyway. But if you feel someone is specifically targeting you, then ignoring might be your best bet.

Above all else, just don’t fall victim to anger. It’s not worth the infraction. Plus it just kills your vibe. You should be having fun here man. So try to hold on to that. That’s what I try to do at least.

Meanwhile Uncharted is becoming as cursed as Gambit was.

I have no interest in this Uncharted movie. Absolutely love the games and the characters, but I just don't see it working on film as anything other than a lesser Indiana Jones. What makes the games so fun is unique to gaming in addition to the great voice acting. You can't just slap a cast together and have some of the same general treasure hunting aspects and call it a day. That's not what makes Uncharted, Uncharted.

Bringing back Tomb Raider movies into discussion, I prefer the sillier ones starring Angelina Jolie over the more grounded recent one.

Horror movie with lots of comedy in it? That is something I have sure never thought I'd ever see.
Creative, new, and daring. I'm hyped.

Responded with reversal and new infraction count via PM, but for the sake of everyone else here: I don't believe y'all can see infraction counts anymore on Xenforo, but if anyone wants to know how many they have, please feel free to ask!
