Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Sony really is trying to make this whole thing happen, huh

as long as spider-man keeps getting to play in the MCU it’s fine I guess.

It appears as though the Sony guys are allowed to play with MCU Spidey, but not others in the MCU.

Sony going big.

I think they're doing the right thing, take all what you've got and maximize the benefits. DC should learn a thing or two. :o

Connected Universe / Shared Universe is the right way to go especially for smaller obscure comic book properties, that otherwise no one will go and watch in theaters.

Morbius is officially an MCU movie now :hehe:

Talking to my buddy about the Morbius trailer. He's like who is that? I tell him it's Morbius, one of the Spidey rogues. Then I explain how funny it is to me that he's connected to the MCU after all the confidence fans had he wouldn't be and dumping on the movie that went along with it. I laughed so hard when Vulture showed up in the trailer.

He's like who is Vulture? I'm like he was the main villain in Spidey Homecoming? You don't remember him? He goes, oh was he the doctor? I'm just like huh? No, the guy who could fly in Homecoming. He's like wait I remember, he was the guy with all the holograms. No breh, that was Mysterio in Far From Home. Vulture was in the first one.

*Silence*

"Oh damn," he exclaims. "He was the dad of that girl. I forgot all about that one."

And now I can't breathe fam. A guy who is an actual fan of these damn movies can't remember a single thing about them despite seeing them all in theaters. This is how Morbius will succeed. It doesn't need to be good. It just needs to be relatively entertaining with even the vaguest connection to the larger universe.

I'm dying lmao.

Blair Rich, guys.

WB didn't want to make Joker and she was the only exec who helped Phillips and was pushing for the film to get greenlit.

Wish she was the head of WB.

They gave up in the exact same manner WB did.

When Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed and got trashed they axed those original plans, and only eventually brought them back because they got an unprecedented collaboration with a much bigger and more popular franchise. It'd be like if WB decided tomorrow they were actually gonna make Justice League Part II and all those other movies we're prob never gonna see like Cyborg because they realized they could tie it to the Fast and the Furious universe.

Hey Taiwan just held its presidential election in the weekend, the pro-independence party received a record breaking votes (817M vs the old record of 765M by an ex-god Mr Ma) and still managed to win a stable majority at the parliament. They looked done after losing 70% of the cities and polling at 20% vs 50% only 10 months ago.

CCP put so much effort into this campaign i.e. forcing milk tea companies to declare One China Policy, banning Chinese groups and freelance tourists, kicking Taiwanese disabled groups etc out of international conferences, flying battle jets around the island, and making several countries cut diplomatic ties. And the result is a record breaking win for the pro-independence party.

My understanding is USA and its allies e.g AUS were more aggressive than usual to help out (or interfere depending on which side you're on) and they foiled a last minute smear attack from the pro-Beijing part which the TW government would have no ability and time to respond properly (the KMT vice-secretary hooked up with a CCP backed CHN business man to persuade that alleged flipped CCP spy who was on AUS TV interview 2 months ago, to tell the world that he was talking s*** and got the money from President Tsai's camp, in exchange for safe return to China and cancelling all debt. The news, texts etc were leaked by AUS mainstream press the night before the planned press conference which was less than 2 days before the vote (I wonder who leaked it lol). So instead of major confusion and President Tsai having to clear her name in 36 hours the narrative became CCP/KMT plan foiled and KMT had to clear themselves. Funny thing was the vice-secretary still held the press conference as planned and said the same things as the leaked report)

Anyway, HK was a huge factor as well and a lot of their folks came out to tell young people to exercise their democratic rights (youngsters are like 9:1 in favor of Tsai this time). Unfortunately there's a video circulating online where a man was thrown off the HK building and the police claimed it was suicide. Apparently the person who took the video was a Filipino caregiver and she's under arrest, but I am too scared to look into any reports for validity, the video is real tho. (update police say the arrest is fake news)

lol i feel the harder ccp tries with all this heavy-hand tactics, the more it backfires on them.
i wonder if they actually realize that.

act like a dick - no one's gonna be like "wow. let's join these guys."

also the whole situation in hk just shows to taiwan that "one country, two systems" isn't viable.
why fix what ain't broken?

I refer to Xi being as bad as Jiang who was in charge of CCP in the 90s/early 2000s and he had similar heavy hadn tactics and backfired multiple times, a friend said actually Xi is worse because in the 90s they just had the cultural evolution and personal worship of Mao and it was horrifying so they kept away from that, but Xi's making himself a god there now

Surely there'll be repercussion within the party, the result of their involvement

- 2019 HK pro-democracy wins 85% of the seats tripling their previous best
- 2020 TW pro-democracy wins 800M votes making Tsai the highest supported president in (election) history

and they have contaminated pork issues too, I think that was a huge point for the governing party of TW too, they had 0 contamination lol, mandarin speakers love porks.
