Lounge of Justice - Part 90

All these big blockbuster movies getting rescheduled now.

Whatever studio actually has something ready to open as soon as it's safe to be outside again will probably make a killing lmao.

Birds of Prey re-release or Snyder Cut lol

The irony

Just watched the Hugh Jackman numbers at 2009 Oscars, pretty fun, Anne was hilarious too, then the Heath Ledger speech was so sad

Seeing Brolin and Diane Lane sitting together is so weird now.

I do wonder if RDJ could still play his role in Tropic Thunder in 2019.

Saw a channel called Directors Cut I think and it has a cool segment on Joker from TDK a bit different to the blu Ray features.

Here's my mini review of Dark Phoenix (in an attempt to make a poem out of it):

The aliens from Signs, wear the colors of Groot
They want to create a new planet, filled with more than just granite
The Dark Knight of X-Men movies? Watch TDK instead
TDK won't give you, aliens without purpose
Nor a killer that wants to kill, without sending a message
Die movie die, you're worse than Fan4stic
Someone please tell me, how this was greenlit
Or rather don't try, this movie ain't worth it
Damn, that bad eh? I haven't seen it yet. Are the Fox-Men films on Disney+? Gonna have to check it out or go to my local libraries and borrow the Blu-ray.

Oh wait.

It's so bad I wanted to see a piece of modern technology in this movie set in 1992, and I was happy that a little over 20 minutes into the movie Beast was using modern monitors in the lab.

I can suggest watching the funny scenes in Ghost Rider :Spirit of Vengeance instead. Just the funny bits that total to less than 15 minutes, not the entire movie.

This movie still has a better chance at coming out than Flash

Flash was cursed by the same mysterious force as New Mutants, but at the very least it had some progress made in the 6 years since it was announced. There've been a ton of setbacks, but they've at least had discussions with writers and directors about it.

Cyborg never even had that. I don't think there was a single official update on the film since it was announced in 2014. No writer, no director, no additional casting. Nothing. That's why I said the other day that I don't think WB ever was all that serious about making it. Especially when you compare movies that were announced and greenlit much later that already got made or at least had actual progress.

There's part of me that still cynically believes they announced a Cyborg movie because he was the only black member of the League and they wanted to avoid bad press. Perhaps if BvS and JL did better, there could've been a better chance to move forward with the Cyborg movie, but I'm not sure if that would've been much of a guarantee either. Marvel did a Black Widow movie 10 years too late despite that all the movies she was featured in were successful, would Cyborg have fared better than her.

That's what I did I sold off half of my Superman collection and now am focusing on stuff like this and the Hot Toys.

The 1/3rd scale Superman Justice League statue from Prime 1 is on my radar. I'm going to have to part with some great pieces but Prime 1 is amazing. I want that kind of presence in my room. \S/

Superman V was due to be released in 1989, it never got made.. (This is the first time I've heard about this movie.. from Reddit.)

Canon would regularly announce movies that didn’t have scripts and/or directors attached. With SupermanV they planned to somehow use the cut footage from Superman IV combined with new footage. But it became clear to them quickly that Chris Reeve wasn’t going to come back so plans were scrapped. What I find really ironic is if Canon had actually pumped the promised funds into Superman IV it likely would have saved the studio from going under.

^ I think after that went under, the Salkind's bought the rights back and put Superman Reborn into development (the script leaked a while back, had Brainiac attacking Metropolis and falling in love with Lois for some reason, and Superman went to Kandor etc) which apparently Reeve expressed a modicum of interest in, right before his accident?

This article sums up the problems with Cannon Films and it's owners Golan Globus.
