Lounge of Justice - Part 90

Yeah... The first Raimi Spidey definitely didn't age well. :(
Effects never looked great for that movie, everything else aged very well.

the scene where dafoe talks to the mirror while switching btwn norman osborne's and goblin's personalities is the movie's best special effect.
That wasn't exactly special effects, it was mostly him turning around and the camera was positioned perfectly to hide the shift from smile to concern look on Willem's face.

One of the most joyous theatrical experiences of my life was 15 year old me watching Spiderman 1 in theater with my family and watching Amazing Fantasy 15 essentially being reenacted before my eyes. And words cannot even describe the big dumb grin I had on my face when JK Simmons popped onscreen as a JJJ literally ripped from the comic book pages.

And as euphoric as that experience was, my theatrical experience with Spider-man 2 topped it.

probably at this point, with the pandemic and now this:

At this point with what they're doing with Batman it's probably for the best and just restart everything.

Yeah, if it were me, I'd let The Batman kick off a new universe and keep them mostly isolated (with the odd reference here or there) while WW and Aquaman finish out their respective trilogies. Maybe after The Batman's had a couple installments and we've got a new Superman movie or two, do a World's Finest film with the new Bats and Supes. Meanwhile Green Lantern and Flash have their new franchises launched. WW, Aquaman and Harley/Suicide Squad would likely be finished by then by a few years, so THEN do a new Justice League where you introduce a new WW and Aquaman. But that's me.

i can agree with all that.

i mean, it's very great acting there on dafoe's part. it's a special fx in and of itself.

I always said restart everything on HBO Max giving them their own series and then moving on from there.

My pipe dream a few years ago for DC (before HBO Max was a thing) was to have an HBO DC Universe, where a Superman series, a Batman series and a Green Lantern series were the pillars, with little HBO mini-series team-ups featuring the others with spin-off potential...basically the Arrowverse with HBO-level writing and production values and focused on the A-Listers. So suffice it to say I'd be all for that happening on HBO Max, BUT...I can't say I trust HBO Max in terms of quality yet. The fact that they greenlit a Gossip Girl revival from the original creators and stuck to the Berlanti train with GL suggests to me that they are not going to be at HBO's level at all.

I would just have the Flash film bridge the different universes together and keep it moving. Ezra's Barry now knows there's a multiverse. WB pushed for that cameo as I recall, so seems that concept will certainly come into play.

I like your approach a lot, however I can see Mamoa and Gal riding out their roles for a long time assuming the audience still loves them in said roles. Hollywood’s not about trilogies anymore, theyre about franchises and IF audiences are still in love with Gal’s interpretation of Diana Prince like Hugh Jackman as wolverine she might be Wonder Woman for a LONG time. Same for Jason.

I feel like a Hugh Jackman-like tenure was a relic of a previous era, where it really only happened because Fox struggled in finding what worked for X-Men, but they knew Hugh Jackman worked. It was kind of pre-cinematic universes as we know them now. I think the new thing will be the Marvel tenure: 10 years or so and out. Also, Hugh started at an earlier age than Jason did, and his age REALLY started to show. Which is tricky when you're playing superhumans who aren't supposed to age like us. Logan sidestepped that hurtle rather nicely, but not everyone can have a Logan. And I don't think the trilogy is dead in Hollywood. It's just not the default option anymore. I expect Matt Reeves probably has a trilogy planned for Batman, and it will stick. But he could still appear in group films. Like Captain America.

I'm not opposed to Gal and Jason staying on in the new universe (I'm not one of those bothered by the prospect of them acting like Batfleck and Cav-El never existed), but I just think they'll seem...old compared to the newbies, lol.

Gal is only a year older than Pattison though. Jason is older sure, but he's pretty youthful. And I think that compounded with his age gives him that cool uncle vibe that would lend itself well to another JL effort. But I'm generally a fan of mixed ages for these team ups.

I'll be honest, I thought Gal was older. For some reason in my brain she was 34 when she made her debut, lol. Yeah I could see her sticking around then. Not sure about Jason, though.

I think Gal will stick around for how ever long WB wants her to. I also want her WW in the hands of other female directors. I'm hoping Reminiscence is both a critical/box office hit. Lisa Joy has my vote.

I think 5-7 years from now if Gal and Jason are still good in their roles just keep em and have them crossover with Battinson. It could be a crisis on infinite earths kind of thing where the OG DCEU merges with the new one created by Battinson.

Alls I knows is those two cannot retire until they do a big Atlantis/Themyscrya crossover war movie. That would be epic and make boat loads of $$$. Imagine the battle scenes.

Her work on Westworld has been stellar so I'm definitely rooting for Lisa Joy to successfully make the leap to the big screen.

Yeah, I would keep Gal and Jason and recast the rest if they have to. Also, I'd be cool with just seeing more standalone flicks and no team up flicks for a while. I do believe they will some how merge both AM and WW in a team up flick tho, it just makes sense box office wise.

Me too for the most part, as I generally prefer solo outings, BUT I must admit I still have a craving for the proper World's Finest flick that I feel we never got, and would love to see that with Battinson and the next Supes at some point.

Eiza Gonzalez would be my hcoice for a Red Sonya flick. Keep her strong, keep her bad ass, rated R, but most importantly, keep her lookin sexy.

Also, if we ever do see X-23 character again ,but she grown, perfect casting choice to me is Samantha Robinson.

they can just pretend the snyder movies never happened then.
@Kane52630 would be delighted.

Theyre already pretending Snyder never happened. I’m surprised they kept in that Steppenwolf reference in Aquaman. Lol
