Lounge of Justice - Part 90

What's even more funny is there was a scene where two cops were actually arresting unarmed street level thugs and Seagal shot them anyway, forcing the cops to take cover and call for backup.
Maybe I shouldn't mock this given that I love A Time to Kill and Samuel L. Jackson's character waited the night in a courthouse to shoot the dudes who raped his 10 years old daughter.

there's also people protesting the lockdown over at my state's capitol. not surprising tho.

i love america and the rights we have, but unfortunately, that sometimes includes the right for people to act like selfish, irresponsible dumb-arses.

i just hope if any of these fools end up getting sick they don't spread it to other people who didn't ask for it.

There's tons of that going on out here in DC. Not good.

Watched The Way Back last night. Stellar performance by Affleck. Really hit home for me on the substance abuse as well. My sister is an alcoholic and really messed up her life when she was younger. She’s been sober for 8 years now. Also, one of my best friends in high school became an alcoholic during our college years. Shortly before my wife and I had our first child, he and I had a physical altercation at my house and our friendship ended. I couldn’t trust him to be around my family because of how out of control he was. He was one of those that just refused to get help or even recognize he had a problem. When people are living in addiction, they often just can’t see how their actions negatively impact their relationships. This movie really hit the mark on that, and Ben was incredible. Highly recommend.

Thank you for sharing this and the recommendation. My dad was an alcoholic and unfortunately he didn't make it so I generally tend to avoid movies that accentuate on alcohol abuse because of it, but I can always recognize good stories for what they are. Will check out the movie for sure.

Doctor-Sleep.jpg

Read many reviews that say Doctor Sleep was worth watching, haven't seen it yet, but most people say that Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson gave good performances in it. Added to my watch list.

Speaking of Ferguson, I watched The Snowman last night. Damn, what a ****ing mess. A waste of the two leads and J. K. Simmons.

I've rarely seen a movie with such a silly premise take itself so completely seriously.
