Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I wonder what Infinity War/Endgame written and directed by Joss would’ve been like.

Well if the post-credits scene of Avengers was any indication, he would've kept Thanos' infatuation with Death from the comics as his primary motivator, so Thanos in general would've been a very different character.

Yeah, that still kind of bothers me. He hears about courting Death and gives a creepy smile? That's comic accurate Thanos alright. He is supposed to be a disturbing character on a cosmic level. Did they really think the audience wasn't going to buy it after all they'd seen in the MCU prior to that.

Using "phobia" to denote bigoted attitude has been a thing for a while, I.E. homophobia, xenophobia, ect. It could be argued there'd be a more accurate term (****head, maybe?) but it is what it is.

Shame Evans never got to make his Deathstroke movie.

The plan was, I wanted to tell something that would be a lean story, that would be kind of an origin of that character. Something that felt like it could be 100 minutes or 110 minutes long, max – not to go over the two hour period with it... Back then, I was massively influenced by the noir films coming out of South Korea, so that was my pitch. I was like, these films are amazing: the texture, and the tones of colours, the grit and the aggression of them is super interesting to use to tell Deathstroke's story.

Evans also said that the film would have featured the tightly choreographed fight scenes which he's become known for, just with a more stylized flair. "We had ideas of the kind of style that we would have gone for with that, which would have married some of the more grounded style that I have," Evans said, "but then because of the world of it, it would allow me to be a bit more flamboyant and a bit more stylised. We could have taken it in some really interesting areas. We had some pretty bold ideas there that could have been really visceral and really fun." Oh, what could have been.

A CBM influenced by South Korean filmmaking is a dream. I would take his Deathstroke over solo Supes no problem.

You mean Thanos wouldn't have been the tragic villain who was trying to bring peace and equality to the universe by any means necessary.

I don’t think that would have gone down as well with the GA.

Thanos was shockingly awesome in Infinity War. I'm still in awe at how great Thanos turned out.

I was ready to be underwhelmed. Boy was I wrong!

Thanos in IW is my second 'holy ship I just saw that' villain after Joker in TDK. It's a feeling that I can't describe but it legit happened.

Why not though. Out of everything people had seen from the MCU, they wouldn't accept an all-powerful mad titan obsessed with Death? People still said Thanos' motivations to exterminate half the universe made him insane, how is this any different just because he does it to impress a girl. :hehe:

It just comes off as much more cheesy lol. It would be the kind of thing that Rocket might joke about.

Thanos in the movie was portrayed as a man with good intentions who just was going about things the wrong way. They made him a guy trying to save everyone but going about it wrong. He was almost Bizarro who could think.

He really wanted to do that, I'm happy to know that, and more disappointed to not have it.

 I agree.

Eh I'd probably take Death obsessed Thanos over Thor Lebowski any day. Now that's Rocket material. lol
I dig Thor as the Dude.

Dude Thor and Professor Hulk doesn't sound bad on paper but the jokes at their expense wasn't really good. So no reason for me to like those changes.
I could have done without Dude Thor altogether, but I like parts of Professor Hulk. If he fought properly too then I would have been fine with him.
