Lounge of Justice - Part 90

I couldn't imagine a Harley movie not being a success but here we are

Biggest thing against it was people thinking the first one sucked, which we've seen hurt sequels before. But the first look was really good.

Plus putting "From the director of Guardians of the Galaxy" in the trailers may help.

It’s not hard to see why that birds of prey movie tanked, they should’ve just gone with a Harley and Ivy movie. Either that or the sirens.

Sirens would have been more appropriate for Harley than wasting the BOP for her movie instead.

WB could've at least changed the title. Naming your reboot the same as the last movie is just begging for casuals to get confused

I can already tell by the official pic alone that King Shark is gonna be a fan favorite.
He's so goddamn cute. NGL, the inclusion of King Shark is what convinced me to give The Flash TV show another go after writing off the pilot years ago. He's also what convinced me to give the Harley Quinn cartoon a go. I'm probably gonna watch TSS solely because of him, too. And now I recall I used to play with those "Street Sharks" action figures when I was really little. I think maybe I've been a King Shark stan my whole life and never noticed 'til now. :funny:

Honestly, I wish Warner Bros Animation would take a break from making any more Batman films and allow other heroes to bask in the spotlight. It doesn't even have to be Superman or Wonder Woman. I wish we could see any of the following heroes/titles get animated films of their own:

- Green Arrow and Black Canary
- Hawkman and Hawkgirl
- Green Lantern
- Black Lightning
- The Flash
- New Gods
- Booster Gold and Blue Beetle

They did a Teen Titans animated movie a few years back which kind of surprised me. Then Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay came out the following year. Every once in a while they do something out of the ordinary but overall they stick to the familiar formula. They've been treating GL like meme material in those movies for years so that's out of the question since it's clear how the nincompoops making those New-52 based animated films felt about the character.

On a more positive note, Superman: Man of Tomorrow was good.

if the investigation into Johns and Berg comes up with something and the AT&T overlords give them the boot then I think Momoa will open up about it. Of course, that outcome is by no means guaranteed to happen.

What do you mean "if"? You think they're going to paint Fisher as a liar after this whole public debacle is over? Of course they're going to give them the boot no matter what the investigation does or doesn't find. When it comes to corporations like this, public image always comes first and it's not like we're talking about firing people with some huge value to the company. One is a comic book writer, the other is a producer noone knows about. I would be genuinely shocked if either of them get to keep their jobs. Judging by the recent bloodbath at DC, Warner Media doesn't seem to want any of the people who ran DC for the past 15+ years to still be associated with it anyway.

Watching the first episode of that new HBO documentary on the NXIVM cult. Something about this is more unsettling than Scientology to me because it comes across so much more...normal? Also had no idea how many actresses besides Allison Mack they had roped into that. :nrv:

Whenever I see complaints on twitter about The Batman being too dark/violent

I think that as well as making more serious films for adults, WB should be simultaneously making animated films aimed at kids. There should be something like Lego Batman or Into The Spiderverse coming out every year. A wacky Superman film with Mr Mxyzptlk doing all sorts of nonsense, a Wonder Woman film that looks like a dsiney princess movie, a Flash time travel caper.
Shouldn't be a one or the other approach, let filmmakers free to pursue darker versions, whilst also making family friendly movies.

You might be right but I think there's also a chance that they'll just tell Fisher they didn't find enough evidence or that "the matter will be addressed" which actually means they won't do ****. They can get away with it because this thing hasn't drawn nearly enough mainstream attention. It's probably easier to just hope people forget about it and not hire Fisher again instead of firing Berg and Johns and make a big deal about it. I hope I'm wrong but that's how I see it going.

King Shark had bigger presence in this event than GL ever did. Speaking of that, I noticed how they were mostly promoting the New-52 version of the JL for the event, yet they had John Stewart instead of Hal Jordan despite that he was never part of that Justice League line-up. You see the exclusive merch they released for Fandome has Stewart there too and some of the Hall of Heroes panels showed him as well, while Jordan was nowhere to be found. Seems rather obvious what the new management thinks of the Hal Jordan character. DC has been treating him like trash for years and now they throw him away like one. Am I being too overdramatic? I get these characters are nothing more than corporate IPs but there's this constant sense of injustice surrounding that particular character.

I'm watching Aquaman a second time, and it's a movie that's making me happy. There is some mild shaky cam in the submarine, but it's not awful level, and the cuts and editing did shift shots way too quick like other movies did.

The battle of Arthur's mom has one fabulous shot and camera movement, I applaud for the people who worked on it.

@Black Narcissus

Did it live up to the hype?

that scene in the trailer when kravitz catwoman attacks batman in the middle of her heist looks like something right out of the comics.

makes me think of some tim sale or matt wagner drawn stories.

I was about to hit play, but for whatever reason decided to finally watch 11-22-63, I just enjoy the hell out of time travel plots. I’m also ashamed to admit to never seeing any of them Bill n Ted flicks, and want to watch them before the new one comes out this week. I did get in contact with the lead costume guy for 11-22-63, I really want that jacket, we might work something out.

DC FanDome Generates Massive 22 Million Global Views
150 millions views of trailer content launched from the event and dominated YouTube and Twitter trends

DC FanDome, Warner Bros. Comic-Con alternative, garnered 22 million global views over 220 countries and territories in a mere 24 hours via their player, influencer live streams, and user-generated content created by fans watching the event, the company announced on Wednesday.

Additionally, 150 million views of trailer content launched from the event and dominated YouTube and Twitter trends during the broadcast. DC FanDome, which covered the upcoming slate of WarnerMedia films, television shows, games, publishing and consumer products trended in 82 markets on YouTube and 53 markets on Twitter. Global fan reactions were overwhelmingly positive (99% positive social sentiment).

Lisa Gregorian, Warner Bros. Television Group Chief Marketing Officer and Blair Rich, President of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros., originated the idea together for DC FanDome and discussed with TheWrap how it came about.

That's probably what's gonna happen at this point. If someone more high profile had backed up Ray's claims there'd probably be a bigger public outcry. But in the mainstream it seems like the story came and went.
