Ive found pure breds in a number of places including shelters. My own rule is if you want a dog just find one that needs a good home and adopt it and give it a home. Purebred or mutt doesnt really matter to me. Its not the poor dog's fault whether its genetics are "pure" or "mutt" it just wants to be loved.
